The Black Annnd White sports podcast - Season 9

Whoa, hold up a minute, the Black and White pod is talking about soccer nowadays? Yep, strap on your cleats and join us on the pitch for a special episode diving deep into all things Premier League annnd Champions League! In fact, we're joined this week by special guest and long time listener Tim B. to share all of his knowledge regarding the drama with both Man City annnd Manchester United, plus the dynamics of trying to build a championship contender through the US Men's National soccer team, so take notes Bob Bradley (fired), Jürgen Klinsmann (fired) Bruce Arena (fired), Gregg Berhalter (fired), or whomever is trying to turn this all into chicken salad at this point! Then of course White James will update us on the big rivalry game between the Bears and Packers this weekend, can Love+company keep up the winning streak against the team down south? We got some very unexpected results this past Tuesday...from the College Football Playoff committee! For the first time in history the field of play has expanded from four to twelve teams, so White James and Black James begin to predict how much of the field will be stuffed with B1G Ten and SEC teams versus the rest of the saturday league. And unfortunately the results last Sunday were of no surprise with the Detroit Lions continuing to dominate in Lambeau of all places, so we need to take a step back and wonder if they're doing something better than us, instead of playing the blame game, otherwise the NFC North will be lost forever. But that won't stop White James from reconsidering the blame he put upon coaching for the Bucks horrific record to start the NBA season, maybe just maybe the personnel needs to be replaced, they did great in the recent past but time has caught up with them.

At the time of posting, Black James would like to extend an immense congratulations to the LA Dodgers for winning this year's World Series in dominating fashion. It's always nice to see a team with a history of victory live up to the hype...unlike Wisconsin football continuing to find ways to give away games this season, or the Bucks already looking like a listless shiip mere days into the new NBA season. But it's okay, White James is going to make some bold upset predictions about the upcoming weekend of college basketball, and Black James makes mid-seasons projections on multiple NFL team's chances to reach the playoffs (or beyond, spoooooooky!).

Holy smokes, what a week in sports as we reach the holy trinity of NBA & NFL & MLB being action all at the same time! White James kicks off the show with his report from going to Lambeau Field to watch the Packers defeat the Texans with a last second walk off field goal, then we pivot to the surprising upset of former #1 Texas at home to Georgia's ferocious defense, and Black James ponders if his Wisconsin Badgers can bring back their powerful defense to challenge Penn State this upcoming saturday night!

And at long last, we get to bring NBA talk into season eight of our podcast as LeBron James makes history taking the court with his son Bronny, but there's far more to discuss with a newly constructed NY Knicks team trying to challenge the defending league champions Boston Celtics from going back-to-back.

Then strap in folks, because we've got ourselves the best possible World Series matchup this century, the number one and number two home run hitters in the entire sport are going to face off with Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani pulling up into the October classic with all-time franchises Yankees and Dodgers battling out for bi-coastal baseball supremacy. Look at us, already halfway through the college football season, so White James and Black James are going to breakdown which teams are in prime position to win it all this year, alongside which coaches and athletes are making a name for themselves across the national media with 7 of 14 weeks worth of regular season ball behind them. Then we'll touch base with how the Packers look after another Jordan Love driven victory before White James drives up north to watch the next Green Bay home game! And Black James has a report on how the L.A. Dodgers continue to masterfully navigate from the NLDS to their current lead in the NLCS. Strap in folks, another good episode has landed!

Talk about an October surprise folks, it looks like one race is all but over, but quite a few others are just about to heat up! First of all, we had a totally historic weekend of college football with #1 Bama annnd #4 Tennessee going down in upset losses, alongside five other top twenty-five teams taking an L in an epic Saturday of surprising results. Including in the frakas was the second straight B1G Ten defeat of Lincoln Riley's career, is this guy the real deal? And will the frontrunners of the CFP step up and perform next weekend? Red River is now an SEC battle, and Oregon might be playing against Ohio State three different times this year, yikes!In the NFL world, we bid adieu to yet another head coaching career with Robert Saleh being let go from his post only five weeks into the season. Don't fall for the media hype folks, Black James has a full rundown of who's to blame for the folly of the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Mets.Wait, who snuck that in there? Was that you Grimace? Oh no, wait, it was the Miracle Mets who ended our Brewer's season in spectacular fashion, yet the rest of the NLDS has been fantastic primetime playoff baseball to watch, so we'll have White James walk us through what comes next for Milwaukee's home team. And yes, we'll check in on how Love is doing with his return to the Packers, but he's gonna have to play second fiddle to Xavier McKinney, the man with 5 interceptions already this season! And the football gods offered up a similar come from behind story on Sunday with the Packers almost overcoming a 28 point deficit in their late rally loss to Minnesota, which means we have to begrudgingly ask...are the Vikings legit?
