After years of saying "we should own a bar", we finally went out and... well own a bar. But it's so much more than that. It's a Haven. Sometimes life puts you in a situation or in the right place at the right time in order to have you leap head first into your passion, your dream, or your calling. Opening the first black owned business in Taiwan has been a tall order. But one that has been consistently rewarding and an invaluable learning experience. The Haven has arrived. After all the talk, the wishing, and the planning, we made it happen.

Black culture is present and prevalent all over the world. Black people in some of those same spaces, however, are not. Outside of our homes it can be a struggle at times for people of color to find our safe Havens. Whether it be at work, in social settings, or on the opposite side of the world, Havens are important for our mental and physical health. There will always be those who look down on what you're trying to accomplish. It's inner motivation, drive, and passion for those for whom we care most that keeps us pushing forward.
