Released in 1985, We Are the World brought together musical superstars from multiple generations and genres. Written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, it raised more than $63M for humanitarian efforts in Africa and America. And it is still the blueprint for artists to follow when hoping to use their talent to benefit those in need.
