Despite the electric conversations that happened this past week and news of Russell Simmons sexual misconduct, we're still wondering where is the televised State of Hip Hop and Rape Culture round table? Amber and Jazmine recorded this week's show on Election Day in a much better mental space than this time last year! Black women and returning citizens who had their voting rights restored overcame the many complications and let downs of the democratic party to keep voting no on White Supremacy across the country! Jay Z took his Facebook for a spin to speak out against the slavery cartel's treatment of Meek Mill and Donna Brazile showed us that she too is a god.

Your favorite news and politics podcast has to take time to talk about how our rights to our own bodies are being violated through policy and are maintained by the people with the most power are enacting terror on our communities. We demand the end of all sexual violence and coercion. Everyone must stand up against those who misappropriate and abuse their power at every level. We're only here to cover who we truly care about: Oprah, Beyoncé, and dope Black woman owned comic book stores. Refusing to protect journalists, healthcare, freedom of speech, protest, or anything that upholds our basic human rights are detriments to Black Joy and a waste of this ill studio connect. But as news and politics PODCASTERS, we cover it all. Get you a fav podcast that can do both.

Yo fav news and politics podcast just got back from Werk It Podcast Festival and Let's Talk About Sex Conferences! Institutions like the NFL and NBA have refused to perpetuate a culture that celebrates the human right to protest. Instead, they have chosen to embrace a more authoritarian approach that increases punishment, stigma, and coercion in the name of "patriotism."

We at The Black Joy Mixtape vow to protect Black femmes and exhaust their divinity so that we can make a safer world for ourselves and our siblings like Terry Crews. No tired Dove ads nor ESPN suspensions formed against us shall prosper.
