Eight One Sixty

The Blackbird Revue 2

Listen Later

To kick things off, it's a bit from Radiohead and then two brand new songs, one from The Invisible World (catch them on Saturday at The Tank Room) and another from Chris Meck and The Guilty Birds (catch them on January 27 at recordBar) - BOTH songs were finished and mastered YESTERDAY and both reflect the views of a huge amount of people as we enter a new political time in the U.S.
If you like what you hear from The Invisible World head to their Facebook page, you can download the song and make a donation and they're giving ALL the money to Midwest Music Foundation and Planned Parenthood. If you like what you hear from Chris Meck and the Guilty Birds the song and video launch on Friday at bridge909.org
Then, we are treated to a live in-studio set from The Blackbird Revue (their second time live on the show...a first in Eight One Sixty history). They’re moving to LA and have a farewell show this Thursday night at recordBar that we are sure will be filled with friends and surprises. We also talk about a couple events going on this Friday: a fundraiser for Rose Brooks Center at Mills Record Company with Katy Guillen and The Girls and others, as well as Musicians For Active Justice : GET LOUD! at recordBar featuring THE ARCHITECTS, Emmaline Twist and others. Also, we talk about the great Michael Byars and his upcoming birthday bash Friday, January 27 at miniBar featuring Abandoned Bells and we’ll hear music from one of my favorite KC jazz musicians, Mark Lowrey who now hosts an open jam every Tuesday night at The Phoenix
