The Skinner is close to achieving his plan but one pesky Senator and two former Skinners stand in his way!
Support the Show! Be sure to #FillTheFedora on Patreon.
Case Profile for The SkinnerIt's a race against time as The Skinner is close to accessing the software that will give him full control of the most elaborate microchips in the industry. All that is standing between him and his glory is Senator Panabaker. Yes it turns out that good old Cynthia rose up the ranks and is now a US Senator and still loathes Harold and the team just as much as before. That is unless they are looking to do good. She agrees to let Cooper, Aram, and Ressler back in to the FBI as well as open up the old Post Office black site. Also new team member Dembe joins the team to take Liz's old spot.
The team with Red's help does eventually save the day but in true Blacklist fashion a win for the task force also is a win for Red. An old procedure in the line of The Skinner is to allow two former Skinners the ability to revoke the power of the current Skinner and select a different successor. Well it just so happens that the new Skinner is none other than Raymond Reddington.

The Skinner is a modern day version of the dread Pirate Roberts, and he wants to control the world's microchip supply!
Support the Show! Be sure to #FillTheFedora on Patreon.
Case Profile for The SkinnerIt's 2 years later, and the task force has been disbanded, Dembe Zuma is an FBI agent??? and Red is still licking his wounds. The team is brought back together when Dembe is wounded in the line of duty when The Skinner shows up to steal a truck full of special microchips. The Skinner is a 700 year old Pirate who died in the late 1400s. However the skinners followers appoint a new skinner to take the old one's place… a tradition that still lives on to this day.
The current day skinner is looking to control the worlds microchips, not just the sale and movement but the entire production line including how to make and create the chips themselves. The skinner kidnaps the one guy and his family that can do just that and sadly that is where we leave part one to the open of the new era of The Blacklist. More to come in next week's conclusion episode.

It is good to be here with you all the fans of The Blacklist, here at the end of all things. Konets or The Ending did not disappoint!
Support the Show! Be sure to #FillTheFedora on Patreon.
Case Profile for KonetsRed has one last thing for Liz to do after they escape The Nest, kill him and take over his empire. But first they spend the day in the park, walking and talking and leading us to the big reveal.
Be sure to answer our profiling question of the week: What did you think of the Season 8 finale? Visit our feedback page to leave a response or call +1 (304) 837-2278.
The Music for KonetsThis evening's music started off with "Dig Dis" by Hank Mobley the Remastered 1999 Rudey Van Gelder Edition. In the Park, we hear a cover of "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane performed by Renee Dominique and probably my new favorite version of the song since I blubbered through that sequence too. Then at the restaurant party we are treated to "Keep Watch" by Adult Karate. Then as Liz's life flashes before her eyes in Red's arms we hear "One Last Dream" by Radical Face. Fun fact, Radical Face was the first big band of the series with "Welcome Home"

In the beginning, a network of Russian spies that included Katarina Rostova created a new version of Raymond "Red" Reddington, and it was good.
Support the Show! Be sure to #FillTheFedora on Patreon.
Case Profile for NachaloEight seasons of The Blacklist all come down to this episode, the one with the answers. Red and Liz after arriving in Latvia last time stand at the door of what will go down as one of the more visually stunning episodes of The Blacklist as they enter "The Nest" the originating source of Red's entire operation and how he comes up with the names on The Blacklist. This site is where information is collected as currency and traded for other information on heads of state, leaders of industry etc. It is here at the source that we finally get the pieces put together as to why Red entered Liz's life 8 years ago.
The episode transitions into an interesting documentary style exposition presented to us in black and white by director Kurt Kuenne who was behind the documentary Dear Zachary. During the exposition sequence we learn how Katarina Rostova was brought up in the family business of being a spy, the work she had to accomplish, and her closest friends that helped her along the way. We learn about Ilya's involvement, Ivan's involvement, but most importantly Tatina Petrova aka "Fakearina" and how she was setup by Dom and Ilya. All of this leading to the answer that Reddington was created to protect Liz and keep Katarina Rostova hidden. So who is "Red" Reddington, the creation? That is left for you to decide.
Be sure to answer our profiling question of the week: YES or NO. Does this episode confirm that Red is Katarina Rostova? Visit our feedback page to leave a response or call +1 (304) 837-2278.
The Music for NachaloOnly one song this week for the episode. When we see "created Reddington" step out of the car for the first time we hear "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" by James Brown.
You can hear these songs via the official Blacklist playlist on Spotify or the same playlist recreated by us on Apple Music.

Eight years of world building, character development, and a crazy mythology have all come down to the final two episodes of S8, and Jon Bokenkamp is here to tell you all about it.
Support the Show! Be sure to #FillTheFedora on Patreon.
Case Profile for Jon BokenkampOver the last eight years, we here at The Blacklist Exposed have had many interactions with Jon over the years. Most of the time he dodges the questions faster than an olympic dodgeball team, but not this time. Oh No. We have waited a long time for some concrete answers to our questions as both fans and podcasters, and in this interview... Jon delivers.
You will hear a great synopsis about the final episodes of the season and how we got to the doorstep of the answers we seek. We talk shooting a show in Covid times, the decision to be more serialized, KEENLER taking center stage, the plumbing situation in the box, but most importantly what are the truths we should know going into next week's "document" of the entire history of the show episode 821 "Nachalo". It will be a Blacklist episode you will never forget.

See Elizabeth, recently abducted from the Post Office in one of the coolest yet most ridiculous sequences ever on the show after turning herself into Cooper, is now Red's "guest" (we still say prisoner). When Godwin informs Townsend of the plan, Neville mobilizes to capture Red. But Red with Liz in tow escape on his Jet to Latvia where all of the answers for the last 8 years will be revealed.

Liz and Ressler manage to escape on foot into the neighborhood of the 7th ward.
Enter Balthazar Bino Baker is a sort of mob boss that runs the 7th ward. He ensures that his people and establishments are well taken care of. Case Profile for The ProteanThe Protean uses the recently deceased's identities to mask himself as an assassin for hire. Townsend, now armed with knowledge that has put Liz's life in jeopardy, hires The Protean to take out Liz and her entourage. When her team is taken out Liz turns to the Task force to help her stay one sep ahead of her potential killer
Meanwhile, Red is trying to find out who The Protean is by enlisting the help of Glen's mother Paula and her ties to the phone company. Where a list of numbers matching the description of the Protean is helpful, Paula earns her pay this week by enlisting a group of Bingo players to call the numbers and find the recently deceased person who's identity was stolen.

Paula's ProseWelcome to Paula's Prose that part of the show where we feature two great scenes from Paula herself that part words of wisdom. Then each week you can vote for your favorite here.
Our first clip comes when Paula talks to Red about some altacockers. Our second comes when Paula rallies the troops to Father Steve's plight. Which was your favorite? If you prefer a modified version of calling numbers vote #PaulaBingo. Or if you want to help poor father steve vote #PaulaDeacon
The Music for The ProteanAs Liz thanks skip and the protean is about to attack we hear "Summer Breeze" by the Isley Brothers. As Red hands out sandwiches at the bingo hall we hear "Uncle Ray's Polka'' by James Kalamasz and Julien Desabrais. Red's oldest and dearest friend from the east has been captured by Townsend. If he talks, it could literally cost Liz her life.
Support the Show! Be sure to #FillTheFedora on Patreon.
Case Profile for Ivan StepanovThe search is on for Red's oldest friend Ivan Stepanov. Townsend has him in custody torturing him through electric shocks to keep him awake in order to induce a hypnotic state of truism. Townsend keeps him off site from his Park Avenue penthouse where Pria is still on the case to try and assassinate Townsend. The FBI figure out that Ressler's phone is tapped and as a result invade Townsend's "compound" but not before Townsend, Liz, and Pria all drive to Ivan's location.
While at the secret warehouse, Ivan sees Masha for the first time in 35 years and then proceeds to put a target on her back by revealing the big secret not to us, oh no, only to Townsend through those famous Blacklist close whispers. Townsend, now after Liz, tries to capture both Red and her alive, but Red has other plans as Red and Ivan escape with Dembe as Liz goes her own way on foot. In the end Red fixes up Ivan and he escapes before Cooper and the team can question him.
