In 1954, in the small town of Bladenboro, NC, numerous animals were found crushed, decapitated, and sometimes drained of blood. These strange animal deaths were attributed to "the Beast." What was the Beast? Some say it looked like a large cat-like creature, some thought it was a bear or a mountain lion. Whatever it was, as many as 1,000 people embarked on a hunt for it in January of 1954, and at least three people claimed to have killed it.
