Certification: Shannon Enochs is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
Education: Dr. Enochs completed her associate degree in Nursing from Ventura College. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Thomas Edison State College and her doctorate in Nursing Practice with an emphasis on Psychiatric Mental Health from Brandman University.
Experience: Dr. Enochs has experience working with clients across the life span in a variety of settings including wellness centers, outpatient clinics, county behavioral health clinics, and nonprofit child-welfare organizations. Dr.Enochs has additional training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and Functional and Integrative Psychiatry. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Dr. Enochs supported delivering patients and their families by working as a Labor and Delivery nurse and a lactation educator.

Jane F. Houston DNP, CNM, FACNM began her nursing and midwifery education in Scotland where she became a registered general nurse RGN with a Bachelor’s degree and completed her diploma in midwifery in 1992 to become a Registered Midwife. She has always felt called to the profession of midwifery since childhood. Jane has cared for many families and caught many babies on 4 different continents, in countries including the USA, Scotland, Zimbabwe, and New Zealand over the past 32 years. She entered graduate school at the University of Florida in 2001 and completed her MSN studies so she would be able to provide midwifery care in Gainesville, Florida. She became the first midwife on staff at a local hospital there. Jane was in the first DNP class at the University of Florida, graduating in 2009, and continued her career in education becoming Director of Midwifery there from 2011 to 2015. She joined the faculty at Frontier Nursing University in 2015 as Clinical Director for Midwifery and Women’s Health until 2019. She then became the Director of the DNP program there until Fall 2021.She currently provides full-scope midwifery care as teaching faculty within the University of Central Florida residency practice at a local maternity hospital. She is an Associate Professor with interests in waterbirth, normalization of pregnancy, delayed cord clamping, Diversity, and Inclusion related to SGM communities, kindness, and compassion in healthcare and international maternal care. She/They identify as gay and gender non-conforming.

Sheila Dedrick knew she found her niche working with mothers and babies from her first clinical rotation in Obstetrics in nursing school. She became an RN at the age of 20 and moved to the Maternal Child department as soon as she could. She has continued for over 40 years, never leaving her passion, working in labor and delivery, mother-baby, and high-risk antepartum. Currently she is the Manager of the New Parent Resource Center at Community Memorial Hospital which she opened and where she combines her expertise in lactation and maternity with her passion for teaching. She developed a comprehensive set of courses and established an outpatient lactation support program where over 1400 private consultations are done each year. She was instrumental in the CMH receiving their Baby Friendly designation. She graduated from Cal State Dominguez Hills with both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Nursing as a Nurse Educator. She is an IBCLC and Certified Hypnobirthing Childbirth Educator. She was honored with the Liquid Gold Award from the Breastfeeding Coalition of Ventura County and was named the Hospital Hero for Ventura County by the National Health Foundation. She lives in Oak View with her husband of over 40 years, is proudly the mother of two breastfed daughters and the grandmother of two breastfed grandchildren.

She is President of the California Nurse-Midwives Association. Her career began in 2005, during which time she has worked as a labor and delivery nurse, a childbirth educator, a lactation consultant, and a belly dancer (yes, she considers belly dancing to be a legitimate and joyful occupation). Paris also enjoys writing, and has served as Associate Editor of Healthy Mom & Baby Magazine, as contributing writer for CMQCC’s Toolkit on Supporting Vaginal Birth, and as co-author of AWHONN's position statement "Continuous Labor Support for Every Woman." Paris believes that everyone deserves gentle, respectful, evidence-based care, and works tirelessly to shape the culture, policies, and paradigms that determine the care we deliver and receive. Paris is married to the man who taught her all about the importance of labor support, and together, they have two beautiful sons, a cat, a dog, and a lot of fun.
