Jeremiah was but a popular prophet because he foretold national calamity and disaster. He decided since no one was listening anyway, he stop trying. But we are all poor judges of our ultimate effectiveness. Only God knows that. So we must not be \"weary in well doing.\" We are called simply to be faithful, leaving our effectiveness to God alone.
