In this episode, Hailey is uncovering the history of Lake Geneva, from its impressive, historic buildings, treasured artifacts, and a long-lasting legacy that all began right here in Lake Geneva. Up first: historic buildings. With a journey along the Geneva Lake Shore Path, many impressive and historic buildings are put on display, like Black Point Estate. Later, Hailey heads to another architectural gem–Yerkes Observatory–to learn about its beginnings. Then, Hailey goes on a quest to find Lake Geneva’s most treasured artifacts at none other than the Geneva Lake Museum. Finally, Hailey learns about the long-lasting legacy of Lake Geneva that all began with one influential person–Gary Gygax, the author and co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons!

Next, Hailey continues on with outdoor fun in the area, including snowmobiling, tubing, ice skating, ice fishing, and downhill skiing. She ends indoors at the Hodag Dome. While the dome is used year-round, during the winter, it is the center of ALL the action.

In this episode, Hailey heads to the one and only historic Wisconsin township of Oulu, home of the largest population of Finnish people in the Midwest. She explores the quaint community that continues to work hard to preserve its prided history, celebrate traditions still today, and welcomes visitors to take in the authentic Finnish culture. First, she dives into the history of Oulu, which dates back to 1997. Later, Hailey fast forwards to present day, where the Oulu Heritage Center has kept their Finnish heritage alive, from housing artifacts to teaching traditions. Lastly, Hailey shares how and when to visit Oulu to partake in the communal celebration of culture.
