You’ve done the therapy. You understand your patterns. You can explain exactly why you feel the way you feel.
So why does your body still react like nothing has changed? Still anxious, exhausted, sad.
Still irritated or on edge. You’re exhausted. Your sleep is off. Your digestion changes. Or you find yourself reacting in ways you completely understand but still can’t seem to stop.
It can be incredibly frustrating when you’ve spent years working on yourself and your body still doesn’t feel the way you think it should.
But understanding what happened to you and actually processing what happened to you are not the same thing.
You can know your story while your body still carries the stress, fear, tension, and protective patterns it learned along the way.
Healing may not require another self-help book, another practice, or another attempt to fix yourself.
It may begin by creating enough safety and support for your body to finally process what your mind already understands.
Press play if you’ve ever thought, “I know why I feel this way so why do I still feel this way?”
And if you’re realizing your body may be carrying more stress than you thought, download my free Hidden Signs of Burnout Guide to discover nine signs of burnout that are easy to dismiss as “just the way I am.”

You got eight hours of sleep. So why do you still wake up feeling like you barely rested?
What if the problem isn’t how long you’re sleeping but what your body is doing while you sleep?
You go to bed exhausted, but your mind is still running. You toss and turn, wake up during the night, or sleep until morning only to reach for coffee before the day has even begun.
We’ve been taught to think about sleep in hours. Get eight hours and you’re doing great. Get five and you know why you’re tired.
But being asleep and actually restoring aren’t always the same thing.
Your body doesn’t simply switch from a day of problem-solving, caregiving, rushing, thinking three steps ahead, and pushing through stress into deep restoration the moment your head hits the pillow.
And what happens during those hours of sleep matters not only for how you feel tomorrow, but for your brain health in the years ahead.
Press play to discover what may be happening when you’re sleeping but never quite feel rested, why your nervous system matters more than you might think, and how to create the conditions your body needs to finally let go.
And if your body has forgotten how to stop, download my free Yoga Nidra practice for a gentle way to help your mind, body, and nervous system release before sleep.

Ep. 37 Feeling Forgetful? What Stress Is Doing To Your Brain
Chelsea Johnson Ayurveda / The Body Rhythm
You walk into a room and suddenly can’t remember why you’re there.
Or the word you’ve used a thousand times disappears right in the middle of a sentence.
It’s easy to laugh it off as getting older but what if your brain is trying to tell you something?
More and more women are noticing brain fog, forgetfulness, and difficulty concentrating much earlier than they expected. And when you’ve spent years under chronic stress, sleeping poorly, pushing through exhaustion, or living in survival mode, those everyday moments may deserve more attention than we give them.
New research is changing the way we think about brain health. Instead of something to worry about decades from now, your brain health is being shaped by the rhythms you’re living today.
And that doesn't mean your future has already been decided.
The small choices you make around stress, sleep, food, movement, connection, and rest can become an investment in the brain you'll be living with for decades.
Press play to discover why brain health starts much earlier than most of us realize—and why what you do today may matter more than you think.
If stress, exhaustion, poor sleep, or feeling “off” has become your normal, download my free Hidden Signs of Burnout Decoder to uncover what your body may already be trying to tell you.

What if the emotions you’ve been pushing down haven’t actually gone anywhere?
What if some of what you’re feeling in your body is connected to everything you’ve been trying so hard to hold together?
You keep showing up. You take care of what needs to be done. You push through, stay composed, and tell yourself you’re fine. But underneath it all, you don’t actually feel okay.
We’re taught to admire the woman who stays strong, keeps going, and never lets anyone see her fall apart. Softness, tenderness, vulnerability, and the willingness to be held can feel like weakness especially when you’ve spent years being the one everyone else depends on.
Your body still has to carry what never had the space or safety to move. Healing isn’t about holding yourself together a little better.
Press play if you’ve been carrying more than you let anyone see and you’re ready to understand why letting yourself soften may be one of the strongest things you can do.
And if your body has been asking for a place to soften, listen to my free Yoga Nidra practice for the kind of tired that sleep doesn’t fix. Lie down, press play, and give your body permission to do less.

It can feel like you hit perimenopause or menopause—and suddenly your body stopped cooperating.
Your joints hurt. Sleep changes. Weight shifts. Your energy is different. And everywhere you look menopause seems to be the explanation.
But what if this transition isn't simply about everything that's going wrong with your body? What if it's also revealing what your body has been carrying for years?
2026 Fall Reset
In this episode of The Body Rhythm, I offer a different way to look at perimenopause and menopause through the lens of Ayurveda and yoga therapy.
Ayurveda sees this stage of life as a natural transition rather than a malfunction of the body. As our hormonal landscape changes, the body may need something different than it did at 25, 35, or 40.
I explore why joint stiffness, changes in bone health, nervous system reactivity, sleep disruption, and other symptoms can become more noticeable during this transition and why years of stress, pushing through, under-resting, and not moving enough may also be part of the picture.
Instead of asking, How do I get my old body back? perhaps there's a different question:
What does my body need from me now?
Menopause doesn't have to mean that your body is broken. It can be an invitation to pay closer attention and create a new routine to become more nourishing, more consistent, and more responsive to the body you're living in today.

You’re still showing up. You’re still getting things done. People still depend on you.
But underneath it all, you’re exhausted.
Maybe your digestion has become unpredictable. Sleep doesn’t restore you anymore. Your mind won’t shut off, you’re more irritable than you used to be, or you’ve lost touch with the things that once brought you joy.
And yet, you keep going.
2026 Fall Reset
In this episode of The Body Rhythm, I share part of my own experience with burnout after years of caregiving, working, and continually overriding what my body was trying to tell me.
When I finally returned to Ayurveda and yoga, recovery wasn’t about finding a stricter routine or another wellness protocol. It was about creating a different rhythm—one that made room for nourishment, rest, support, and receiving.
The Ayurvedic concept of ojas, our deep reserve of vitality and resilience, and what happens when years of chronic stress and high output slowly deplete those reserves.
Because recovery from burnout doesn’t necessarily require blowing up your life or becoming a different person.
It begins by recognizing that your symptoms aren’t something to push through. They may be your body’s way of asking for a different rhythm. More space, more nourishment, more support, and a chance to replenish what's been missing.
The Hidden Signs of Burnout

What if the thing you're most afraid of—slowing down—is actually the thing that allows you to keep going?
You answer emails while making dinner. You work after everyone else goes to bed. You carry the emotional weight of your family while trying to build something meaningful in the small pockets of time that are left.
You tell yourself you'll rest later. But later never comes.
So many high-capacity women believe they have to choose between caring for themselves and fulfilling their purpose. The story of one of the most accomplished American authors tells a very different one.
Burnout doesn't happen overnight. It builds quietly through years of constant responsibility, interrupted attention, emotional labor, and putting yourself last. Your body adapts—until one day it can't anymore.
🎧 Press play to discover why so many high-achieving women mistake chronic stress for "normal," how your body signals it's been living in survival mode, and why slowing down before burnout isn't giving up—it's creating the resilience to keep going.

What if the biggest thing standing between you and living longer and feeling better isn't the turmeric supplement you're taking — but the pace you've been living your life?
If you're constantly searching for the next wellness trend, morning routine, or anti-aging solution, you're not alone. So many women feel like they're doing everything "right"—yet they're still exhausted, inflamed, sleeping poorly, or wondering why their body doesn't feel like it used to.
Maybe your body isn't asking you to try harder. Maybe it's asking you to stop living in survival mode.
In this episode, we look at the remarkable life of a woman who lived to 117 years old—and why researchers believe her longevity had less to do with one "superfood" and more to do with the rhythm of her daily life. Her story challenges the belief that healthy aging comes from perfect habits or constant wellness optimization and instead points us toward something much simpler: consistent nourishment, meaningful connection, emotional steadiness, and a life your body can actually sustain.
🎧 Press play to discover why your body responds more to the environment you create every day than to the latest wellness trend—and how small, sustainable rhythms may be one of the most powerful investments you can make in your long-term health.

What if the reason you still feel exhausted isn't because you're doing too little—but because you've spent too long believing you always have to do more?
You work hard. You take care of everyone else. You exercise. You try the wellness routines. You keep pushing because that's what you've always done.
But if your body still feels tense, exhausted, anxious, or disconnected...
Maybe it isn't asking for another workout, another routine, or another wellness trend. Maybe it's asking for something you've been taught not to need: a time to pause.
So many high-achieving women believe healing comes from doing more—more discipline, more exercise, more productivity. But a stressed body often heals in the opposite direction.
🎧 Press play to discover why so many people mistake constant performance for wellness, what stressed bodies are actually asking for, and how creating small moments of safety can begin to change the way you feel—without adding one more thing to your to-do list.

What if the reason you can't relax isn't because you have too much to do but because your body has forgotten what safety feels like?
You keep showing up. You meet the deadlines. You take care of everyone else. From the outside, you look calm, capable, and completely in control. So when someone asks how you're doing, you automatically say...
"I'm fine."
But underneath the productivity, perfectionism, and endless responsibility, your body may be carrying more stress than you realize.
High-functioning anxiety doesn't always look like panic attacks. Sometimes it looks like being the woman everyone depends on while quietly running on empty.
🎧 Press play to discover why so many women mistake chronic stress for "just having a lot going on," how your body begins speaking through exhaustion, poor sleep, digestive issues, and tension, and why healing doesn't begin with doing more—it begins with helping your body feel safe again.
