One of your hosts, Tim LaDuca, recorded this special, one part episode for a history class about baseball in Mexico. Beginning with the introduction (0:00 - 3:30), Tim looks at how events such as "Fernandomania," and other aspects of baseball in Mexico helped shape Mexican identity after the Mexican Revolution. From 3:31 - 6:45, he gives an overview of Mexican national identity and then talks about what role sports served in Mexico before the Revolution began (6:46 - 11:45). The majority of the podcast is spent looking at baseball in Mexico such as the Mexican League raids on MLB players, the 1957 Little League World Series, and Negro League players suiting up to play in Mexico (11:26 - 31:41). After the conclusion (41:42 - 35:25), Tim records an interview with the Curator of History and Research at the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, John Odell (35:26 - 54:09).
