Listening carefully to Jesus’ teaching means, generously supplementing our faith with moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, patient endurance, godliness, brotherly affection, and love for everyone. This is the key to resisting any temptation to drift from God when things are going bad, or when we’re being tested.
