- Tax and Housing Help for Millennials & Gen Z
Emily Greene, State Director for Americans for Prosperity joins Jerry and Rose to discuss The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). Key provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017
are set to expire this year. How this will affect family’s federal bill, and income taxes. The provisions need to be protected in the new Congress. On Housing: Zoning laws prevent new builds and availability which drives up cost of housing. We need to promote legislation in State Capitols that addresses this issue. On the brain drain: According to Census data, some
states like Pennsylvania have populations declining and fall victim to the brain drain. 20-30 year olds leaving some states for greener pastures. These issues should lead into a greater conversation around policies that will allow Millennials & Generation Z to thrive.
A combination of housing reform, tax reform, and better budgeting on the part of state governments should encourage younger generations to stay and make their states more competitive. Join AFP to affect change: www.protectprosperity.com and Twitter:@ emilyrosegreene

37 min - Millennial's Advise On Success & Overcoming Adversity
Jerry and Rose are joined by Commissioner Electra Janis, the youngest ever female commissioner in the state of Pennsylvania. Be inspired by this young lady!
Electra encourages others to go after what they want and to stand up to adversity. Others used her age against her, but Electra shares how she shut out the criticisms and pushed on.
She discusses how sacrifices she made along the way paid off. Growing up in a tight-knit Greek-American family, where hard work and candor were mixed with compassion and loyalty, Electra Janis is a young woman in a hurry.
Her family life, she says, taught her values, while working in the family’s restaurant taught her to stay humble.
“Both of these have taught me how to treat people,” she says. “Family and community are important to me,” she says.
Her combined life experience and youthful drive have helped to shape her agenda for Washington County.

27 min - Pondering Life in Modern America
John Knauss, author of “The Leftover Soul - Pondering Life in Modern America” joins Jerry and Rose.
They examine the bizarre changes in modern American culture, politics and tradition over the last 40.
John believes our country has indeed turned its back on so many of the things that made our country great and it needs to be examined from the common citizens perspective. Those common American traditions like neighbors getting together for coffee have led to some of the hateful rhetoric we see on both sides of the aisle today.

28 min - Reimagining America's Dream
The American dream has become increasingly unattainable for many of this country’s citizens. And as that dream fades, so the fabric of our nation begins to fray.
Bernie Mullin arrived in the United States in the 1970s, and saw America as a land of unrivaled opportunity. He went from small business owner to senior roles at some of America’s most beloved sports institutions. Pittsburgh Pirates to name one! As his own star rose, he watched in alarm as the ties that bind America together began to come loose. Reimagining America’s Dream is his prescription for the fever that is pulling America apart.
To realize an ever-more perfect union, we need a common purpose, a shared story that anyone can write in the pages of their own life.
Bernie discusses how every American can realize the fruits of their talents and labor. Your life is in your hands - take control of it. Invest in youth in America for the future of America

30 min - Historic Amnesia: Our Children Must be Taught History
Michael Levine, Author of Broken Windows, Broken Business Joins Jerry and Rose
What happens when young people are not equipped with accurate historical knowledge?
Historical events fade from living memory, especially as the survivors and witnesses pass away.
Millennials raising pets not children. Young people have been indoctrinated from kindergarten through college.
Indoctrination has been baked into impressionable brains
After 20 years of social experiment we are now seeing the results.
For example: A little less that 20% of Gen Z’rs believe Hitler had some good ideas
How do we respond to this? Where does the blame fall?
Why is it important that we pay attention to these numbers?
How did we get here? Who is responsible for fixing this? Parents, teachers? Will they?
Regarding buliding your business: Little issues matter a lot where your business is concerned. Michael also encourages us to change the way we think and do business. His book; “ Broken Windows, Broken Business”. Management theories that can alter the destiny of countless companies striving to stay ahead of their competition.

39 min - Tiny Mistakes that Created Big Disasters
How is history really made? It’s not always the major events but rather a mosaic of many small events that often form critical turning points in history. Some of these small events were seemingly tiny mistakes that led to great disasters. Such as:
- The End of The Roman Empire. The Fall of Constantinople in 1453 came about because someone forgot to close and lock a major gate.
- The Sinking of The Bismarck. The captain of Germany’s largest battleship decides to break radio silence after being warned not to do so, contributing to the sinking of the Great Ship and an enormous Allied victory.
- Laboratory Mistakes. Two of the biggest developments in medical history took place because of mistakes in the laboratory. One saved many millions of lives; the other cost the lives of over ten million people worldwide. Learn the intriguing story of what they were.
Jared takes Jerry and Rose into the deep shadows, the black holes, and the Nooks and Crannies to give you the facts behind the big events. Hear about mysteries and resolutions that you never knew existed. These puzzling situations and their outcomes for better or worse have determined the course of human history.
These are bizarre, hypnotic stories your history teacher never taught you.

About The Boomer Effect
From the publisher's feed
“The Boomer Effect” takes a look at generations that came before and after us in an effort to understand our differences and establish common ground. All durable and long-lasting civilizations have…
one thing in common; they respect the wisdom of their elders and do not mock it. Yes Boomers made mistakes- but we got a lot right as well. Part of getting it right is extending what we've learned to Generation Z, and Millennials. The great depression gave us a post World War II generation of adults determined to give their children everything that they didn't have. Maybe that was a mistake...
