After taking a long break, we’re finally back.
In Episode 33 we catch up on everything that’s happened during the hiatus... new homes, weddings, new adventures, birding?, life changes, and what pulled us back behind the microphones.
Then we dive into what’s happening in gaming right now and ask a question many players are feeling:
Why does gaming feel boring lately?
We break down why live service games are struggling, why so many releases feel repetitive and what the industry might need to rediscover the magic that made gaming exciting in the first place.
We also talk about what we’ve been watching lately which is mostly how Apple TV+ keeps quietly dominating with shows like Severance, Pluribus and Shrinking.
And of course, we kick things off with some rapid-fire philosophical questions:
• Would you rather serve life in prison for a crime you didn’t commit, or live freely after committing a terrible one?
• If you could bring one video game mechanic into real life, what would it be?
Episode 33 marks a new chapter for the show and we’re excited to be back.
On this episode, the boys discuss some surprisingly heavy things while discussing not at all heavy things. A full review of the masterpiece that is Black Adam is our Final Boss segment, and we are joined by Lucas aka Suzie Uzi aka Stephen's little bro via call!
Ok, not really. But someday? After the usual antics, rapid fire questions and news, we discuss the A.I. future and the impacts of tech on our lives. This is a nice long episode to make up for the time off!
Stephen is out of town, and Paul is talking to himself! He breaks down what's he's got going on, talks about some weird news stories like the Toy Hall of Fame inductees, and breaks down the Fast & Furious franchise and ranks the movies!
Stephen and Paul try out the new format where they plan nothing and try to make God tier content. Are they S tier yet? Prolly not. Are they above mid? You damn well know it! They play a few games like Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader and This or That. Then the conversation devolves into what makes music iconic and other random topics. Come along for the ride!!!
Well, this will sure be an episode to remember!!! Hilarious stories followed by a deep conversation about what makes us interpersonally connected with other humans. We chat about a trip to Home Depot, Rapid Fire questions, reactions to the MWII beta and more!
THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN! Stephen and Paul catch up after too long of a break and outline their commitment moving forward. They catch up on life, play rapid fire, discuss the GTA VI leaks and the colossal failure that was the MW2 and Warzone 2.0 event last week. Also, is Better Call Saul really that good?
On this episode, we forego our usual games and gimmicks for a nice discussion on E3, including Halo: Infinite, Battlefield 2042, Forza Horizon 5 and Square Enix's failures.
Paul is out in San Diego on vacation so Stephen found a better co-host this week! Stephen is joined by long time friend and fellow nerd Ashtin D'Motta (@dmottabeats) to discuss their favorite video game soundtracks of all time! The guys also discuss playing the new video game Knockout City together, Battlefield 6 news, Tacos vs. Wings and much more!
On this week's episode, we don't have an agenda! So we just do what we normally do in a slightly less organized way! Topics include the end of human civilization, cognitive load and the loss of excitement. (We promise it isn't as heavy or depressing as all that)
