The Boss Wave Podcast

This week, now that Nat has returned to the podcasting world, we have got back to the normal way of doing things, i.e. Nat is off ill and Mark is off doing family stuff. Do not worry however as Chris and Rob are here to continue with one of their semi-regular moan-athons. Gaming news discussed this week include: Mass Effect: Andromeda non-news, Double Dragon 4, Resident Evil 7 4D, Super Mario Run sales figures, Rime resurfaces, Beyond Good and Evil 2 to be Nintendo Switch exclusive for a year and Activision licensed games disappearing from digital stores.

Games played and discussed this week include: Transformers: Devastation, A Boy and His Blob, Risk of Rain, Ys: The Oath in Felghana, Super Mario Run, Spec Ops: The Line, The Last Guardian and Wipeout HD.

This week, to celebrate the new year Chris and Rob are joined by the much missed returning Richard Nattrass (no Mark this week unfortunately as he was on childcare duties). Understandably, bearing in mind the time of year, there was not a lot of gaming news to discuss so other than talking about the 'free' games available on PS+ and Games with Gold we mostly go over what Nat's been up to over his time off and what we've all been up to over the Christmas holiday.

Games played and discussed this week include: Red Dead Redemption, ReCore, Outlast, Rory McIlroy PGA Tour, Watch Dogs 2, Gears of War 4, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Ys: The Oath in Felghana, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Tiny Troopers: Joint Ops, Final Fantasy 15, Nier: Automata Demo, Gravity Rush 2 Demo, A Boy and his Blob, Ronin and Firewatch.

This week Chris, Rob and Mark took advantage of the dearth of news in the gaming sphere to record their game of the year show for 2016. As awful as the year has been for everything else it appears to have been quite a good year for games and so the guys manage to witter on for a full two hours about all their favorite games from the year that time will hopefully forget.

This week, in the shortest show turnaround in Boss Wave history, Chris and Rob (Mark was selfishly being good parent) managed to edit and post a show within hours of actually recording it. They would like you to think that this was a great achievement rather than the product of necessity that it was after they bungled trying to record multiple times earlier during the week. Gaming news discussed this week includes: No Man’s Sky update, The Game Awards 2016, new Death Stranding trailer, all the goings on from PSX 2016, Final Fantasy XV reviews and The Last Guardian reviews.

Games played and discussed this week include: Far Cry 4, Galak-Z: The Dimensional, Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas, No Man’s Sky, Final Fantasy XV, A Boy and His Blob, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

This week Chris, Rob and Mark, in the absence of tales of drunken debauchery from Chris, get straight into talking about games for a change. Topics discussed include: Micro-transaction approaches from EA for Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2, The Walking Dead: Season 3, Uncharted 4 DLC, Pokemon Sun and Moon news, Xbox One games to be able to stream to Oculus Rift, Deep Silver admit to putting Homefront: The Revolution "Out too soon", Xbox Games With Gold for December, Final Fantasy XV day one patch and spoilers out in the wild (no spoilers given in the show) and Persona 5 delayed to April 2017 but will come with dual audio. The audio quality is very crackly for the first 5 and a half minutes but it then it mostly rectifies itself, we don't know why.

Games played and discussed this week include: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Far Cry 4, Mafia III and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

This week Chris starts the show by regaling Rob and Mark with his tales of going out to clubs on his own, at his age. After that all the gaming news of the week is discussed (as well as lots of PS4 Pro stuff to try and make Mark not feel better about his recent purchase). Topics include: Darksiders Warmastered Edition, Red Faction and Red Faction 2 rated by ESRB for ps4, PS4 Pro stats, Pokemon Sun and Moon out for 3DS, Nintendo Switch rumoured price, iPhone Mario runner details revealed, Xbox fanboys have wracked up over 100 billion hours and unlocked 32.6 billion achievements in 15 years of Xbox, Sony might be about to allow users to change their psn gamertags, Minecraft gets Exploration Mode on PC/Mac, Dishonoured 2 sales info and Watch Dogs 2 vagina news.

Games played and discussed this week include: Mafia III, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Gears of War 2, Prey, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

This week Rob is back from his honeymoon and is full of newly-wed happiness... until the news happened. With Mark away Chris and Rob try to ignore the world news and concentrate on games. Topics discussed include: New Metro game/book, Titanfall 2 reviews, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare reviews, The Last Guardian goes gold, Swery retired from access games - but healthy, more Nintendo Switch, more Red Dead Redemption 2 and what's coming up in what remains of the year. Due to continued issues with Skype not playing ball with recording software the audio quality is once again not the greatest, sorry.

Games played and discussed this week include: Rise of the Tomb Raider, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, Bloodrayne: Betrayal, Gears of War 2, Killzone: Mercenary, The Bridge, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, Broken Age, Bastion, Apotheon, Aaru's Awakening and Pumped BMX +.
