Wednesday marked the first time in months there was no mainstream live sporting event on television to consume. Eric is hoping Roger Goodell schedules one this Tuesday night. Brad loved the story in the LA Times about Chip Kelly’s ridiculous team meal budget at UCLA and why in the middle of a pandemic where the athletic program is bleeding money, this makes absolutely no sense. Brad Zoomed in with the great Peter King (20:49 on podcast) who talked about the Cardinals incredible SNF win over Seattle, COVID testing in the NFL and the chances of Trevor Lawrence saying no the New York Jets if they have the number one pick and returning to Clemson for his senior season. Plus, ASU legend Jake Plummer (33:40 on podcast) on life in and away from football and why he feels he’s not living up to the late, great Pat Tillman’s expectations.
Brad is really into the 2020 World Series, while Eric really isn’t. Regardless, the Dodgers can become the second LA team to win it all in 2020 Tuesday night against the Rays in Arlington. Brad caught up with former Cardinal, Super Bowl Champion and three-time Pro-Bowler Seth Joyner (7:49 on podcast) who discussed the Cards big win, Kyler Murray taking his game to the next level, the NFC West and much more. Plus, Sande Charles with SI.com Senior Fantasy Analyst Michael Fabiano (26:36 on podcast) talking Kenyan Drake’s injury and all the latest fantasy news from around the league.
The Arizona Cardinals sent a message to the NFC West and the rest of the NFL coming back to take down the first-place and then undefeated Seattle Seahawks in Glendale. Brad and Eric discuss the impact of the primetime win, despite a number of in-game injuries to Kliff Kingsbury’s crew. Brad was happy to see Ohio State roll Nebraska and Chaparral alum Jack Miller score his first college touchdown. Plus, the Dodgers and Rays World Series continues and Hamilton takes out Saguaro on national television Friday night in Scottsdale.
Coming off a big Monday Night Football win in Arlington, the Cardinals now turn their attention to the Seattle Seahawks who, once again, appear to be the cream of the crop in the NFC West. Brad and Eric know Sunday in Glendale is another big measuring stick game. NBCSports.com NFL Columnist Peter King (14:12 on podcast) talked all things Cardinals and the latest news from around the league. South Point Casino Resort Sports Marketing Director Jimmy Vaccaro (29:53 on podcast) talked Seahawks-Cards, Rays-Dodgers World Series, the return of Big Ten football this weekend and much more.
Cardinals blow out Cowboys on MNF as Vance Joseph’s defense dominates. Much bigger task this week against the Seahawks in Glendale. The World Series starts Tuesday between the Rays and Dodgers. ESPN MLB Insider Pedro Gomez (10:34 on podcast) previewed the World Series, as well as broke down what’s expected to be a busy off-season for the Diamondbacks. Plus, Sande Charles catches up with SI.com Senior Fantasy Analyst Michael Fabiano (26:49 on podcast) for his weekly segment talking about all the big news, including Le’Veon Bell signing with the Chiefs.
Arizona Cardinals hit the big stage Monday taking on the Cowboys in Arlington. The big question is – are the Cards ready to make a statement with the world watching against a depleted – but storied franchise? ESPN.com Cardinals insider Josh Weinfuss (9:29 on podcast) Zoomed in to talk about his terrific deep dive on Kliff Kingsbury which dates back to his youth growing up in Texas, what he sees in the MNF matchup Monday and everything else making headlines around the Cards. The Dodgers are back in the World Series thanks in large part to Hamilton High alum Cody Bellinger whose late-inning homer propelled LA past Atlanta. Brad also touches on the passing of legendary columnist Sid Hartman.
COVID has made the NFL schedule look like a bingo chart with random games popping up all over the week, including Tuesday. Are we to the point where the NFL should look at spreading games out all week? Brad and Eric don’t believe that’s the right decision. The Cards-Cowboys Monday night showdown is coming but the Arizona got the expected bad news Wednesday – Chandler Jones is done for the year. NBCSports.com NFL Columnist Peter King (9:18 on podcast) discussed games all week, more people streaming games than ever before, Cards-Cowboys on MNF, Dak Prescott’s horrific injury and much more. Plus, azcentral’s Bill Goodykoontz (30:56 on podcast) talked the dueling Presidential candidates appearances Thursday, plus the big Monday night showdown in Arlington and much more.
The Cardinals sit in a unique position heading into their next two games against the Cowboys and Seahawks. Arizona is 3-2 but the top of the division (Seattle, LA Rams) looks really tough moving forward. The Chargers may have won the uniform game but is their another team in the NFL who loses more close games than Anthony Lynn’s squad? Jordan Hamm in for Brad Thursday to kick off the football weekend and everything else making headlines in this busy time. A promising start for the Arizona Cardinals has evaporated over the last two weeks. They can’t lose to the Joe Flacco-led New York Jets Sunday…can they? The great Peter King talked about all the news around the NFL, including a preview of Cards-Cowboys MNF (16:08 on podcast). Plus, Justin Spears (28:28 on podcast) from Tucson on Kevin Sumlin’s positve COVID test, the outlook for UofA football and much more.
