After months in the making, the College Squash Show is here. University of Pennsylvania Men’s Head Squash Coach Gilly Lane will join Jackson Bragman bi-weekly, to Breakdown the latest happenings, news, and updates, from the world of college squash. In episode 1, Jackson and Gilly open the show with a discussion about the current landscape of college squash, analyzing the brand new 12 team National Championship bracket and chatting about Jackson’s weekend in Lancaster Pennsylvania, playing 3 matches for Denison University against Dickinson College, Wesleyan University, and Franklin and Marshall College. Then, they get into their conversation with Tufts men’s and women’s squash coach Joe Raho. Joe was teammates with Gilly at U Penn over a decade ago and is still one of his best friends. Jackson asks the pair about their coaching philosophies, coaches in other sports they look up to, and much more. Great opening episode of a series Gilly and Jackson are incredibly passionate about and hope to grow in true coming weeks months and years and we hope you all enjoy!

Gabe and Goose are back to join Jackson in previewing the college football Conference Championship Weekend. They start with The Michigan Vs. Ohio State game which they were all in attendance for, before covering the other major conference title games and discussing Playoff implications of the games. They wrapped up by chatting about a couple other major college football storylines including Mark Stoop short lived run as Texas A&M Head Coach and Colorado's early offseason drama. Peter Vanderkaay is a 3 time Olympian, a 2 time bronze medalist, a 2 time gold medalist, and now a guest on The Bragman Breakdown. Vanderkaay joined Jackson to chat about how he first started out in swimming, his time swimming at University of Michigan alongside Michael Phelps before they became teammates on the Olympic relay team, swimming for world renowned coach Bob Bowman, the day to day role of a swimming coach at the Olympic level, how he stays motivated through training, what it feels like to win a gold medal, and more. At 38 years old, Gilly Lane has taken the college squash world by storm and has turned the University of Pennsylvania into a perennial National Championship contender. He joined the show this week to discuss his time playing number one on the ladder for four years at Penn 2 decades ago, his love and admiration for the school, entering the coaching world at a such young age, his recruiting process, how he builds strong team culture, the one compliment that means the most to him from a former player, and more.

Loaded show for the people this week! First, Jackson chatted with Detroit broadcasting legend and National Radio Hall of Fame nominee, Tom Carballo (AKA Mojo) the host of the ‘Mojo in the Morning’ show. The two reminisced about Jackson’s internship with Mojo last summer before Mojo opened up about the most important lesson he learned as an intern over 30 years ago. Mojo also discussed his start in broadcasting, his controversial interview with Justin Bieber, the one person throughout human history that he would most like to interview, and more.

Jackson closes out the episode by recapping his trip to Detroit last Saturday night to see SummerSlam at Ford Field and he shared his thoughts on Roman Reigns and the state of WWE Universal Championship.

On this week's edition of Movie Club, Hayden Buckfire joins Jackson to discuss the cinematic phenomenon that's taken the world by storm: Barbenheimer. Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' and Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' were both released on July 21st of this year, with both films already amassing hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office. This week… Detroit Lions safety Tracy Walker! Since being selected by the Lions in the 2018 NFL Draft, Tracy has made a name for himself as one of the best open field tacklers in football, leading the Lions in that category by a wide margin in 2021. 2022, however, was a different story as Tracy tore his Achilles tendon in week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings. Following intense rehab, Tracy made a full recovery in a mere 6 and a half months and is 100% cleared for Lions training camp. On this week’s pod, Tracy talks about being sidelined for the majority of last season and how he was still able to help his team win, his excitement and expectations for the 2023 season (including the Lions season opening Thursday Night Football game in Kansas City against the defending Super Bowl champs), and much more. Tracy is a class act and it was a pleasure having him on the show. Enjoy!

Good one for the people today as the world ranked #50, and world ranked #72 players on the PSA World Tour Timmy Brownell, and Spencer Lovejoy join The Bragman Breakdown this week. The pair are training partners at the new state-of-the-art home base for US Squash, The Arlen Specter Center in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and they're both former guests on the show. It was great catching up with Timmy and Spencer about playing one another at the B & R Toronto Open this season and what it's like playing your friends on tour, their commentary of last year's college squash National Championships, and this year's US Junior Open with Squash TV commentator Paul Johnson, their founding of The National Squash League, which just had their first exhibition event, and so much more.
