Read Mark 11:1-11

1. Jesus showed up to start a Revolution, but not how the Jewish People expected. 

    a. What are some unrealistic expectations you hold for yourself or others?

    b. How do you respond when Jesus doesn't show up like you expected or hoped?

    c.  Pastor Ryan asked a fill in the blank... What are your responses?

        i. "At _____ years old, I never thought I would be _____." (Leader's Note: It's time to be vulnerable)

Mark 2:1-12

Pastor Ryan opened up with several revealing questions. Let's dig in with a few of these: 

1. How far would you go to get someone to Jesus?

    a. Do your prejudices exclude certain people from The Kingdom of God?

    b. When was the last time you Risked Rejection in the pursuit of simply inviting someone to church?

2. Pastor Ryan unpacked 4 Corners of Faith: 

    a. Foundational Faith 

        i. Take an honest look at your faith. Share a bit about your personal time in The Word & Prayer.

    b. Functional Faith

        ii. How does your faith affect the rest of your life? 

    c. Crazy Faith 

        iii. Pastor Ryan said, "Crazy Faith is only seen through Simple Obedience."

        iv. Share a time when you really stepped out in crazy faith.

        v. Share a time when you chose to NOT take that step. 

    d. Catalyst Faith

Pastor Ryan walks us through Exodus chapter 32 as our last installment of this series. We dig into how God's Love & Wrath can co-exist in His perfect Nature.

1. Share a few of the major things God has done in your life? 
    a. How easy is it for you to forget or remember those things when life throws you a curveball? 

Exodus 32:2-6
2. The Israelites created a god made of gold. We tend to create gods in our lives too. 
    a. What in your life have you been tempted to elevate above God? 
    b. Another way of asking this question… what in your life gets more time than God? 

Exodus 32:19-24
3. Aaron immediately turned & blamed the Israelites for him making the golden calf. 
    a. Pastor Ryan said, “it’s human nature to blame others & re-write history to justify our actions.” 
        i. Share a time when you messed up & didn’t take responsibility? 
        ii. In the after math, did you respond in Humility & Repentance? Or stick with the blame game? 

Exodus 32:9-10
4. When you read of God’s wrath, what comes to mind? 
    a. Does the work of Jesus on your behalf cause you to want to draw near to Him out of gratefulness or pull away out of shame?

Pastor Amanda walked us through the giving of the law & how we view this today in our Journey with Jesus.

1. Pastor Amanda helped us Define God's Relationship with the Israelites. 

    a. They will be God's Treasured Possession, A Kingdom of Priests & A Holy Nation.

    b. What are a few ways you could define your relationship with God?

Read Exodus 20:1-20

2. What are some initial thoughts that run through your head after reading the 10 Commandments in their entirety? 

    a. Does this list feel limiting or freeing?

    b. Pastor Amanda said, "The key to unlocking the 10 Commandments is within the 1st command."

        i. If this command is the central message of God's bigger story, how have you done in keeping that command? 

        ii. Are there areas of your life that get more attention than God? (family, career, hobbies, etc...)

Jeremiah 31:33-34

3. Have you come to the point on your Journey with Jesus that these laws have been written on your heart? Are the 10 Commandments still external, or do they live internally?

4. Pastor Amanda closed out challenging us to live on mission. Would you consider your relationship with The Lord a mission? Or do you simply find yourself acting like a Christian to impress the right people?

    a. Have you ever become bored in your Christian Walk?

        i. Are you bored right now?

    b. Share about one of your favorite adventures. 

        i. Now share about a Spiritual Adventure. 

5. How can we pray for you this week? 

Today is VERY different! Pastor Ryan basically ran the service like a big small group discussion. The goal was for people to see that The Lord longs to speak to & through every one of His people. We hope you enjoy this amazing discussion!

1. After Moses was refused by Pharaoh & the Israelite people began to turn on him, he went back to God with a pretty raw & unfiltered complaint. (Read Exodus 5:22-23)

    a. How easy is it for you to take your disappointment to God? 

    b. Do you find yourself downplaying your true feelings in order not to upset God with your feelings? 

2. Read God's Response to Moses (Exodus 6:6-7)

    a. We see God refocusing Moses on the bigger picture. 

    b. What scriptures have helped you refocus your life in difficult times?

3. Let's Get Messy (Read Exodus 7:3-5)

    a. We see God hardening Pharaoh's heart, then punishing Pharaoh for having a hard heart. 

    b. Is this scripture difficult for you to wrap your head around?

    c. How do scriptures like this shape your understanding of God's Sovereignty? 

4. Let's talk about Passover

    a. Do you think God was too harsh on the Egyptians with this plague?

    b. How does your understanding of the first Passover affect the bring new life to our understanding of communion?

    c. While Jesus was sitting at the table with His disciples during the last supper, how apparent was it for them that the sacrificial lamb was actually sitting at the table with them? 

Pastor Amanda opens up our new series journeying through the book of Exodus. Pastor Amanda reminds us of God's never-ending plan to Redeem & Restore!

Today was a bit different than usual. We shared our heart & vision along with Bragging on how Good God has been to The Branch over 2022. Hang tight after the message to celebrate with us about all that God has done & get excited about what He's going to do!

1. Elisha pleaded passionately for a Double Portion of Elijah’s Spirit. 
    a. What area of life are you most passionate about?
    b. Does that same passion play into your relationship with God?

2. Pastor Ryan posed this question: Are you willing to re-live the same spiritual status you lived in 2022 when they’re a Double Portion available to you? 
    a. What would you expect to change in your life with a Double Portion of God’s Anointing? 
    b. What could a Double Portion of God’s Spirit even look like? 

3. A Double Portion means Zero Comfort. 
    a. What thoughts plague your mind when you think about letting go of control? 
    b. Are you even willing to let go if that means a Double Portion?
