Until 2010 Tim Cameron-Kitchen was a self-employed professional drummer and built his own website to promote his business. The turning point in Tim’s life was when he built a website for his neighbour, who was a tradesman and lived at home with his parents. Through the leads the website generated the neighbour was quickly able to scale his business to enable him to buy his own home. Through experiencing first-hand how digital marketing could change lives, Tim began his business building websites, initially for local tradesmen.
Tim is now CEO of global business Exposure Ninja providing a whole suite of digital marketing services to businesses with a turnover between £500,000 - £10,000,000.
TAKE AWAYS
“People connect with a central figure. I am constantly fighting with the impression that Exposure Ninjas is Tim, because my face is on it and people want to talk to me and want me to manage their campaign but there are more skilled people in my team to do that.”
“We mostly use webinars to put leads in the thermos and keep them warm”
“The workload required to cut through the amount of noise today is just absurd, it’s more than anyone can manage.” “You’ve got be selective. But if you know your audience is in certain places, you’ve got to be in those places.”
“Personal branding is the face of a business, because you can’t have a relationship with a business.”
BEST MOMENTS
“There is nothing more demotivating for a team than to have a talking head idiot at the top who is trying to take credit for everything, what’s that about! I look at the team at Exposure Ninjas and I’m so lucky that they will even tolerate being around me each day.”
“When people become clients, we look back at what they have looked at and they have been binging on us for 2 years!”
“You’ve got to start with long form, if you start with short form, you will run out of things really quickly.” “If you produce a 10-minute video or an hour podcast, there’s enough short form in there for months, potentially even years.”
“Whatever you launch first, it’s not going to be perfect and if it is, you definitely waited too long.”
