• Plot your relationships under each of the two headings: Intimacy or Co-dependency.
• Notice the signs:
• Intimacy: freedom, fulfilment, positive impact, sense of peace
• Co-dependency: inability to function without contact, possessiveness, insecurity, unease
• Reflect on the shift: When did things move from intimacy into co-dependency? Was it triggered by fear, loneliness, or self-esteem issues?
• Recall life before the shift: What activities, people, or mindset helped you feel more whole and independent?
• Take small steps back toward that:
• Try spending an afternoon without contact
• Make conscious time for other friendships
• Reconnect with your own dreams and goals
• Carve out “me time” - even an hour - to do something just for you
