Can you trust God enough to stop working?

Sometimes rest sounds good… until it’s actually time to do it. When there’s work to finish, a business to grow, a family to care for, goals to reach, and a never-ending list of things that need our attention, stepping away can almost feel irresponsible.

But what if rest requires faith too?

In this short episode, I’m sharing a piece of my devotional time that challenged me to look at Sabbath differently—and to ask myself whether my struggle to rest was really a struggle to trust that God could keep working even when I wasn’t.

This episode was originally recorded on my birthday, December 15, 2024, as part of my Daily Inspirational & Motivational series on YouTube. Almost two years later, the message still speaks to me, so I’m bringing it from the BreEvolve archives to the podcast.

Have you ever felt that uneasy feeling in your spirit after watching or listening to something… even if it used to be normal for you? 

In this episode, I’m sharing a personal experience that reminded me how important it is to guard what we allow into our minds, hearts, and spirits. Sometimes God starts changing our desires, and things that once felt comfortable no longer sit right with us. That’s not restriction—that’s transformation. 

I talk about a moment where I ignored that inner nudge, the emotional weight that followed, and how God is renewing my mind in this season. If you’ve ever felt set apart, outgrown certain environments, or noticed your heart posture shifting, this conversation is for you. 

The mind is a battlefield—but through Jesus, we are transformed.

You don’t have to choose between grieving and believing. In this heartfelt episode, I share the emotional journey of letting go of a life I thought I needed—my 9-5 job, financial stability, and old beliefs about what it means to be “strong.”

I didn’t realize I had to grieve the old version of me before I could fully step into who God was calling me to become. If you’ve been trying to "bounce back" without giving yourself time to process, this is for you.

As I read Exodus, the story of Moses and Aaron's mission to free the Israelites from Pharaoh's rule, I found myself judging Pharaoh for his stubbornness. Why wouldn't he just listen to God and avoid all the pain? But then, God put something on my heart—I’m not so different from Pharaoh. Just like him, I often make promises to change in the midst of discomfort, only to fall back into old habits once the relief comes.
