Three weeks ago I decided to stop using AI for coding at work. Here are my thoughts how it's been going in the three weeks since!

A follow-up to my episode about why I stopped using AI for coding, where I respond to the feedback, go a bit deeper on the topics, and talk about why I think AI is bad for learning software and why it's not only a personal health decision but an ethical decision.

I decided to stop using AI for coding at my job, even if it costs me that job. I don't know what the future will bring, but I know it will be one where I don't use AI for anything, especially coding at my day job. I've been coding for 20 years, and the last 18 months have made me question the career and craft I enjoy so much. Using AI for coding led me to apathy, existential dread, and depression. It made me a worse developer, and it leads to worse software. The way that we as an industry and the entirety of humanity are largely approaching this technology is extremely concerning, and I want to share my experiences and thoughts on it.
