As part of the escalating tensions over the future of semi-autonomous territory of Denmark, eight NATO countries have deployed troops to Greenland, and the president has now issued a threat of a 10% increase in tariff rates for those nations on February 1st, with an eventual increase to 25% if a deal isn’t struck for the U.S. to retain control of the territory. Notably, the Supreme Court is also poised to rule on the President’s tariff policies with a decision that could occur at any time.
