This film was written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, is based on the 1935 film, “The Bride of Frankenstein” as well as Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel. The film stars Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale, Penelope Cruz, Peter Sarsgard & Annett Benning. In this film, the monster known as “Frank” is trying to get the doctor, who reanimated him, to do the same for a bride for him. The body that has been chosen is a young lady with a troubled past. After her reanimation, things take a strange and unexpected turn when memories of her previous life begin to merge with her current one. Warner Bros. had been planning a remake of this film back in 2023 and eyed for Maggie Gyllenhaal to write and direct. While filming began and ended in 2024, it would not hit theaters in the U.S. until March 6th, 2026.
