The Bridge Austin

Special effects companies are masters at building small models of railroads or high rises or mountain ranges. But in the movie theater, they seem huge – they fill the screen! Could it be that our problems only LOOK big? Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us see our challenges through the lens of faith. And we’ll see, whether our problems are small or big or incalculable, nothing’s too hard for the Lord. Glad you’re along for our series in Joshua.

In the hussle and grind of everyday life - are you experiencing hope that helps you face the day to day with confidence? How do you get that kind of hope? Join Chip as he opens God's Word to reveal, through the life of the Apostle Paul, how to have hope and confidence that never waver.

Review: Hope: The mental and emotional attitude that life is good, the future is promising, and progress is certain… even in the midst of difficult circumstances and challenging relationships.

Question: How do we experience this true HOPE in everyday life?

Answer: Philippians 3:10-11

Paul’s hope and consuming passion:

“I want to KNOW Christ (yada - Hebrew)

and the POWER of His resurrection, (dunamis - Greek)

and the FELLOWSHIP of His suffering, (koinonia - Greek)

BECOMING like Him in His death. (morphe - Greek)

and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.”

How do we experience this intimate relationship with Jesus?

1. His POWER in our weakness. - Romans 8:11 & 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
2. His PRESENCE in our pain. - 2 Corinthians 4:7-12 & Romans 5:1-5
3. His LIFE in our death. - Romans 6:4-7 & Galatians 2:20

To trust in riches is to trust in a vapor that passes away. What if our money is of no value on that final day of judgment? In this message from the book of James, Pastor Lutzer identifies key lessons about wealth, knowing the Judge stands at the door. Everything we possess belongs to God and could be reclaimed by Him at any moment.

Following the successful mission to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities, I opened our service this morning at First Baptist Dallas by addressing the momentous events that have captured the world’s attention. I reminded our congregation of a truth we must never forget—God stands with Israel, and so must we.

Israel is not just another nation. It is the only nation created by God with a divine promise of endurance. When the world questions Israel’s right to exist or possess its land, the Bible answers unequivocally. That land was given to God’s people, and to strike Israel is to strike the apple of God’s eye.

This week, as President Trump faced immense pressure from all sides, I sent him a personal message of encouragement and reminded him that millions of Christians were praying fervently for him. I told him, “Because we know you and who you are, we're going to trust and support whatever decision you end up making.” And he made the right one.

Following those remarks, I invited our church to kneel together in prayer, and our Senior Executive Pastor, Dr. Ben Lovvorn, led us in a powerful time of intercession. We specifically prayed for:

But this crisis is not just political or military. It is spiritual.
