On Sunday, August 25th, Pastor Dennis encourages us with the latest message in the “Fools For You” series called Praise For The Battle: Gideon’s 300.
What does the number 300 mean to you? If you’re thinking about Gideon and his army then you’re thinking right!God chose Gideon and his 300 because they would be fools for him. God chose 300 households who would follow him and honor him and obey him. 300 families that would fully trust God and would be fully engaged in the battle.
With God the 300 are greater than any number that may come against them! As long as their minds are fully focused on the Lord and willing to do it the Lord’s way! They may look foolish for a while, but God gives them the victory if they abide in him!
On Sunday, August 18th, Pastor Dennis shares the next message in the “Fools For You” series called Praise For The Battle.
Is praising God about how we feel? Is praising God about our circumstances? Or is praising God about trust? To praise is say to God I trust in your nature and I know who you are!
Praise comes out of a deep rooted trust in God that even though I may look like a fool I still trust Him. And that trust is based on the truth of God’s word!
On Sunday, August 11th, Pastor Dennis delivers the next message in the “Fools For You” series and talks to us about the importance of Partnerships of Praise.
The Bible often speaks to us about the power of agreement and the power of coming together to accomplish the will of God in our lives. The Bible also tells us to praise God even in our most difficult circumstances like we see with Paul and Silas in prison and praising after being falsely arrested and beaten. These Partnerships of Praise can help us to overcome in areas of our life were we couldn’t by simply walking or believing alone.
Do you have praise partners where you live, work, learn and play? Are you a praise partner to someone else where you live, work, learn, and play? If not, ask God to lead you to those individuals who you can partner with and praise with. And if you do have a praise community, invite them to join in, or recruit some people to go through this challenge!
On Sunday, August 4th, Pastor Dennis shares the next message in the “Fools For You” series and introduces us to the 7-Day Praise Challenge.
Did you know that our God is a jealous God? What does it even mean that our God is a jealous God? God is going to great lengths to reclaim his people from the world. His acts of love and kindness and mercy prove His jealousy for us! So why can’t we be fools for Him and follow him in everything we do?!
Praise is about choosing! God has chosen us and he wants us to choose him back. He doesn’t make us choose Him. We choose to praise Him based on who He is! So here is your chance to join with us on the 7-Day Praise Challenge as we push out of our comfort zones to truly praise God in the ways He likes to be praised.
On Sunday, July 28th, Pastor Dennis starts a new message series called "Fools For You."
What does it look like to be a "fool" for the Lord. God is inviting us into a deeper relationship with Him. And God is all about using the "foolish" things of this world to confound the wise. So we cannot discount the foolish, the small, and the unassuming things that God chooses to use to bring glory to His name!
We need to recognize that God deserves our focus, attention, and energy where we live, work, learn, and play. Our God is a jealous God and he wants us to give Him our all and be "fools" for Him.
On Sunday, July 21st, we have the second bonus week of the “Oxygen” series called “Fellowship Or Communion With The Holy Spirit” by Ajay Samuel.
Prophecy is not just an office, but a calling of people to Jesus. It’s a spiritual skill that we need to get equipped in and practice in order to do well. And if we’re truly hungry for God he will give us the courage to use the gift of prophecy where we live, work, learn, and play.
As followers of Christ, we have a call to feed people through encouragement (through prophecy) to bring them to the Lord. But God doesn’t force us to do what he wants. He instead invites us into his will and into renewing our minds. And if we want to hear God’s voice more, we actually need to seek after him and talk to him! So how can you take time to draw closer to God and ask the Holy Spirit what he is saying to you and those around you? God desires an ongoing interaction with us, but we need to desire a transformation in the way we act and think.
On Sunday, July 14th, we have a bonus week of the “Oxygen” series called “Sharing Encouragement From The Word” by Ajay Samuel.
The church needs to prophecy by encouraging people in God’s affections. God chooses to partner with us as believers to carry out His desire for the church to prophecy and enjoys that relationship with us. He actually enjoys it! And the more you speak to the Holy Spirit, the more you will hear His voice and know His will.
Daily and regular intimacy with the Lord and obedience with God helps us to see prophecy fulfilled. We have to stop being addicted to getting or having more information, we just have to let God move. He loves us in our weaknesses, but we can’t hear His voice in those areas unless they are fully surrendered. Where do you need to be reliant on the Lord to remove your own self reliance and to fully trust in Him?
On Sunday, July 7th, we conclude the “Oxygen” series with the 7th message called “Wind In The Sails” by Pastor Dennis Lamar.
To move in the kingdom of God we have to rely on the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit now abides in us and helps to fulfill the will of God in the earth. He helps us to proclaim, to speak, or to declare the word of God to others. He is the wind in our sails that propels us and moves us past any sort of discouragement.
Where have you been discouraged in your life? Where do you feel stuck? What’s keeping you from moving forward? Discouragement is a spiritual battle that we all face, and can’t back down from. But thank God we have a helper in the Holy Spirit! He helps us to be encouraged and also encourage others. Because discouragement is not our portion when we’re in the Spirit!
On Sunday, June 30th, Pastor Dennis tells us “Here’s What Maturity Looks Like” in the sixth message of the “Oxygen” series.
Will it always be like this? Well, do you have a growth mindset or a fixed mindset? A growth mindset says, "we can figure this out!"
The things that we go through in life can be opportunities to learn. So what questions do we need to ask where we live, work, learn, and play to those we’re trying to serve? Questions create clarity and the Holy Spirit gives us courage to ask the right things. Then we can truly learn to do things with humility and make them better.
On Sunday, June 23rd, Pastor Dennis picks up with the fifth installment of the “Oxygen” series with a message called “Speak in Tongues to Enjoy Jesus and Excel and Love.”
God has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit. And with the filling of the Holy Spirit comes the ability to speak in tongues. We as believers must have a DESIRE to partner with the Holy Spirit and allow Him to speak through us. Are you speaking through the power of the Holy Spirit where you live, work, learn, and play?
