BeiBei insisted that Ron Lemire come back for another show, and the conversation gets into the deep end of the pool, when it comes to body maintenance, and how to dissociate from the chaos of the world so it doesn't affect you mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Ron offers the choice of meditation vs. medication, and how we've become a species that push and pull on ourselves, without consciously knowing it. He also talks about the invention called "The Liquid Trainer" that uses water and motion to balance out the body. Finally, Ron shares a remarkable story about John Denver being invited to fly an F-16 in a War Games exercise, and pulled an incredible maneuver to become a Top Gun respected pilot.
Super Producer Cimcie has booked Ron Lemire, who is a world-renowned structural movement expert, mobility and wellness coach, body therapist and nutritionist, writer, teacher, lecturer, healer and blackbelt 1st Dan. Ron also spent 10 years traveling with John Denver as his personal health and wellness coach and ran security for the entire band and traveling entourage as well. Ron also traveled and worked as a body therapist and movement coach with the Indiana Pacers and used his keen intelligence in world class performance techniques that helped them to the playoffs during the 1993 season. It's an incredible conversation, as John and BeiBei learn some of the secrets of using food as energy medicine, and some great stories (and songs) about John Denver.
It's been searingly hot in Chicago, and John has opted to leave the air conditioning on in his studio during the show, which prompts a conversation with BeiBei about the mutual challenge they both face 7,000 miles apart, which is their respective neighbors' old, loud air conditioning units. BeiBei reveals a hack to cool down her 10-year-old laptop (that tends to overheat) by wrapping a cold pack in her daughter's underwear, and propping up her computer with the nearly frozen platform. John has to explain the uses of ice beyond computers such as when it comes to injuries, of which he's had many. BeiBei shares a story of the laptop her father bought her, a top-level model 15 years ago, a state-of-the-art computer at the time. John counters with a story about how his dad went above and beyond the call of duty, to help him purchase a piece of property. Finally, John & BeiBei compare notes about raising children.
Cimcie makes her weekly appearance on The Bridge, which starts out with some serious concerns from BeiBei because John's name wasn't on the broadcast schedule, and she was worried about how to do the show without him. Then, she offers up a recipe that her aunt came up with for cicadas, and Cimcie wonders about the ancient insects as a food source. John shares a story about a rouge cicada that apparently hit a driver in the eye, causing the motorist to hit a utility pole. The latest group of cicadas known as Brood X, is one of the largest in the last century, and John offers up 8 Cicada Survival tips from Scientific America. Somehow, the conversation goes to eating crickets, Jiminy Crickets and the book "Cricket in New York." Finally, it's a deep discussion regarding how positive and negative energies affect our lives.
John & Heyang welcome Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter and country music star John Berry to The Bridge. His soaring vocals and heartfelt songs include "Beautifully Broken" "She's Taken A Shine" and "The Richest Man." Berry shares his incredible journey, which includes undergoing brain surgery when his song "Your Love Amazes Me" hit #1 on the charts, and beating throat cancer in 2019, and his triumphant return to performing.
John, BeiBei, Cimcie & Liu Yan are all on the show, celebrating another milestone of The Bridge. They share some of their favorite memories and moments, and of course the ever-popular behind the scenes "Blooper Reel #3" is featured. A powerful conversation, more than a few laughs, and great insights from the Bridge Team.
John kicks off the show talking about the 46th anniversary of the release of "JAWS" in 1975, that created the concept of the "summer blockbuster" and basically changed the swimming habits of humans around the world. The conversation moves on to the show "Friends" more specifically the song "I'll Be There For You" by The Rembrandts-that is the most often heard "earworm" (song that gets stuck in your mind) since 1990. Liu Yan offers his thoughts on the connection between music and television shows, which gives John permission to include the theme from "The Rockford Files" and close with "Thank You For Being A Friend" from the Golden Girls.
Right out of the gate, BeiBei shares her thoughts about a recent interview between an interviewer and the president of Russia, that she found less than good, and her comments made the rounds on social media. John shares some of his thoughts about the thousands of interviews he's conducted on the air, getting those of name and note to connect with him, to create more insightful conversation. Switching gears, BeiBei talks about a young man from humble beginnings that received top marks on the major national education tests. She wonders why so much attention is paid to celebs instead of more stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
John jumps out front with a breaking news story that in the USA, Covid cases are dropping significantly where vaccines are being administered, and are rising in places where people are not being vaccinated. This stating the obvious headline has John & BeiBei discussing the serious blind spots humans have when it comes to common sense, even when their own well-being is being threatened. BeiBei brings up the recent Covid vaccine donation from the USA to Trinidad of a mere 80 vials, which kicks off follow up from John about making decisions without thinking through the full consequences, which usually turns into a PR problem in the end. Finally, BeiBei shares some information on the largest solar plant in the world, and the discussion goes to solar power, which is a major part of the future of energy.
It's been really hot in Chicago, which leads to a discussion about how life was back in the day. BeiBei shares one of the ways she would cool down as a kid, by eating green bean ice popsicles, something John has never heard of. He counters with the traditional ice pops in various flavors, and then they are off to more conversation comparing notes on the uses of green beans. The gears shift 180 degrees, as BeiBei reports on a roaming band of elephants that are wandering through southwest China that have captured the imagination of millions. The Chinese people see elephants as holy animals that can bring fortune and peace. Finally, the conversation turns to the role animals play in modern society, and penguins as pets.
