The entire Massachusetts congressional delegation is condemning President Trump’s assassination of Iranian Major General Qassem Soleimani claiming it will lead to “troubling” consequences including putting the U.S. on the “brink of war” with Iran. Yesterday Iran announced it would no longer abide by the tenets of the 2015 nuclear deal and vowed to ramp up its nuclear program. Soleimani was killed in a U.S. airstrike Friday along with the head of the Iranian-backed Iraqi militia thought to be responsible for the killing of a U.S. contractor and the recent attack on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad. The Pentagon says at the time of his death Soleimani was plotting more attacks. Did the President do the right thing?
