40 Glocc has been in the rap scene since around 1997.  His list of accolades is much to long to list, But to name a few; he’s worked beside legendary artists such as Dr. Dre,  50 Cent and G-Unit, Mobb Deep and even Eminem… just to name a few.

His hit track “Papa’s Lil Soldier” is featured in the DLC for the Video Game  GTA V : The Contract. In Part 1 of our interview, 40 Glocc details his youth growing up between Texas And Cali. Author Frank Lewis continues his story with us.  Fresh out on parole, Frank was a member of The Crenshaw Mafia.  The parole board knew how dangerous of a situation this was, but they still made him travel through rival gang territories in order to check in. It didn't take long outside until Frank was faced with a major decision to make... 

This weeks guest is our homie, Sonny Boy Acosta.  Sonny is one of the founders of the Burbank gang, Barrio Elmwood Rifamos.  

After being charged with a list of gang related crimes, Sonny found himself in prison facing 36 to life. At one point he was even threatened with the Death Penalty.  

After a sentence modification, he was handed 16 years, in which he served 8 before being released. Sonny admits how lucky he is to ever been able to walk out those doors. Once back on the street, he realized that he got a second chance at life an he wasn’t gonna blow it. Sonny will always be from the neighbourhood. That gives him the opportunity to talk to the youth in the area. Using himself as an example that there’s more to life than bangin and these streets.

In 2017 Jay Jays home was raided by the feds. The Police found a brick and a 9 in his possession. Having a troubled youth, this wasn't the first time Jay found himself dealing with the law. It was reported the police only confiscated just over 10 racks in cash. But in reality, the amount taken was much higher.  

Jay was then sentenced and had to spend some time behind bars to pay for his crimes. Coming out a new man with a fresh start, Jay sits down with us from his home in Southern Ontario, Canada to discuss some of his past, family and outlook on life.

In part 3 of our Series speaking with Author Frank Lewis the YA Baby, we pick up were we left off in episode 27. Frank takes us through his journey in the streets and after gettin put on by Wack 100, as a member of Crenshaw Mafia in the California Youth Authority.   

After witnessing his fathers murder by the LAPD at the age of 10, Frank found himself turning to the streets for guidance. Finding that person he looked up to, ended up changing his life forever.  Franks youth would be spent behind bars in YA and the person he looked up to the most, ended up being his co-accused and found himself on death row.

Frank witnessed his father gunned down by the LAPD, at the age of 10.  By the time he was 12 he was already entrenched in the gang life and had been to YA. At 14, Frank took responsibility for his role in the high profile shooting of a USC student named Lisa LaPierre, outside The House Of Blues on the Hollywood strip. The gun used was linked to not only a homicide, but multiple attempted murders, including on two other LAPD officers. Lisa and Franks encounter that July, would change both Lisa's and Frank's lives, forever.
