Whether temporarily, permanently, incidentally, or intentionally, whatever place we find ourselves in life can be a time of just passing through or establishing something. In a city like ours there are obvious and hidden challenges to building a life, but what if we saw obstacles as opportunities? What if we saw chance as design? What if we believed the good to be experienced where we were was tied to contribution and striving not consuming or settling? What if we believed God wasn’t where the grass seemed greener but was with us in the here and now cultivating life for our good, other’s good, and His glory?

Over the next 4 weeks we will ask and answer those questions dealing with what could be if we joined God as we are where we are for a time such as now in a place such as ours.

Love is a war…it’s bloody and beautiful but it’s a war. What lengths are we willing to go for the sake of love….what debt our we willing to incur for the good of others…Where our story leads us is to an understanding that love informed by the gospel makes us go beyond ourselves. It confronts us with the question of do I believe that type of love actually exists and can actually be experienced, regularly…join us as we navigate the willingness of love and the weight of sacrifice with hopes of seeing how we can encounter, experience, and express that type of love. 

Series Synopsis: In a time when everyone was doing right in their own eyes, an immigrant’s courage and sacrifice provided the opportunity for a beautiful story of love & redemption. The layers of love & redemption told through her story have much to teach us about our own, and much to teach us about Jesus. Join us as we sit at the feet of Ruth to learn much needed truth regarding the gospel that can transform our life and the lives around us if we’re willing.

Whose hands is my life in? It’s a fair question that is worth interacting with regularly. The beginning of our story shows us what happens when we take it out of God’s and put it in our own…the worst thing for us is if it works for an extended period of time. The best thing for us is when doing that brings us to the end of ourselves and the beginning of courage…Courage that looks like taking the reigns of our lives and putting it back in the hands of God. Nevertheless, the best thing for us often feels like the worst thing to us so join us as we navigate the tension regarding the need of redemption and the shape courage and love takes in our lives….
