On this episode of The Brouhaha I will preview (not to be confused with spoiling or recapping) Tamra Davis' new documentary, The Best Summer, which follows the Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, Foo Fighters, Pavement, Rancid, Beck, Bikini Kill, and The Amps around Australia during the 1995-96 Summersault Tour.
On the latest episode of The Brouhaha, we get to chat with Erin Potts, Co-Founder of the Milarepa Fund, Co-Organizer of the Tibetan Freedom Concert, and the featured voice in our new favorite podcast, Freedom Needs a Soundtrack.
Erin talks about the legacy of the concert series, the tireless work involved, Adam Yauch taking a page out of the Fugazi playbook, and what it felt like when U2 joined the bill in 1997—fulfilling a wishful statement Erin made to her mother as a teenager.
With Freedom Needs a Soundtrack capping off its sixth and final episode last week, think of this as the unofficial reunion show! #FreeTibet

After 15 years of doing this podcast, I finally found it possible to rank the Beastie Boys' eight studio releases. Even though I was able to do it, I'm not sayin' it was easy.
