The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from French DJ and producer Äitee, based in Berlin. Coming from a scientific background, Äitee approaches music through curiosity rather than control. Starting from improvised loops, each track gradually finds its own direction, shaped by uncanny textures, unexpected turns, and happy accidents.

This EP marks a natural evolution in his sound, moving beyond dark techno and EBM towards a faster, more rave-driven energy while retaining its industrial atmosphere. Drawing from ’90s rave, dirty acid lines, modern club energy, and psychedelic influences, the EP moves through shifting atmospheres and dancefloor-focused arrangements without losing the distinctive character of Äitee’s music.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere Justyn Nell's remix of Surgeon's classic "Brownian Motion". Forthocming on Glasgow's SOMA, the SOMA35 project celebrates the label's enduring catalogue by turning its attention to one of the defining releases in Soma Records' history - Surgeon's seminal 1996 EP, Muggerscum Out. As Soma Records continues its 35th anniversary celebrations, the SOMA35 series shines a light on the records that helped define not only the label's identity, but the evolution of techno itself, creating a dialogue between the label's past, present and future.

Originally released at a pivotal moment in UK techno, Muggerscum Out captured Surgeon at his most uncompromising. Its stripped-back intensity, industrial edge and hypnotic power would go on to become hallmarks of Birmingham techno, influencing countless artists while cementing Soma's reputation as a home for fearless electronic music.

The EP is an intimate exploration of mental health. The final track of the EP, “Everything’s Fine” dives into themes of denial, a struggle for inner peace, and the masking of one’s insecurities. Using emotional melodies paired with hard-hitting basslines and percussion, the track ends the EP on an uneasy high point after the turbulence and paranoia of the EP’s prior tracks.

Since 1995 he's been an influential force responsible for positioning the Colombian scene right where it is today. As a label manager and events promoter of his imprint TECHSOUND founded in 1999, this "national icon", as labeled by The Advent himself, has been exporting electronic culture from Colombia to the world, founding not only the techno scene, but also hard techno, acid, industrial, hardcore and several rave expressions in his country.

With an artistic-political mentality, open minded music formation, endless marathon mixing journeys on almost all 4/4 styles blended up with eclectic music production and sensitivity in any rave manifestation has granted him a solid status around the globe on several music scenes keeping low profile but high-level artistic reputation.
