Davy Crockett was a real human being, one who almost lived up to the tall tales that sprung up after his death. In the 1950's, Walt Disney turned some of these tales into a very popular TV show, and then later cut them up into the 1955 classic, "Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier". This move would spark the coon skin cap fetish amongst most school-aged boys, and cementing Davy's legacy in the minds of boomers everywhere. On today's show, we root around Davy's real history a bit, talk about the movie a lot, and serve up our usual helping of facts!

The closest thing Disney got to making a horror flick in the 1980's, is this. The Watcher In The Woods. Absent of the overindulgent gore that many horror films had back then (and today), TWITW relies on its setting and soundtrack to get you in the spirit of things. Plus Betty Davis doing her best "angry old lady" role like only she can. On episode 6, we jump into this classic Disney horror film, examine the plot, dig up some facts, and learn which one of the cast is currently doing reality TV.

Who would ever have thought that a Disney musical about politics wouldn't have faired so well at the box office? Yet, despite a great cast, songs written by the Sherman brothers, and a condensed runtime, "The One and Only, Original, Genuine Family Band" was less-than-successful. However, it did give us a lot to talk about, and more than a few memorable moments, and that's all we can really ask for these days.

Kirk Russell stars in this thrilling adventure about a college student who gets violently electrocuted and ends up either with a computer for a brain or having a brain-like computer. We aren't quite sure just yet. What we do know, is that we have some pretty stand-out performances by a great cast, some very cutting-edge title sequences, and not one shot of anyone wearing tennis shoes.

Looking back on movies about space travel, we're reminded of just how much we were promised and how little we were delivered. In "Moon Pilot", our hero gets launched into space to orbit the Moon, with only three days to prepare - a feat that would set any project planners hair on end. As the launch date gets closer, we start to learn that great danger lies ahead. Oh, and also beat nicks.

What if I told you that your late Father had left you an entire town and hundreds of acres, but in order to lay claim to it, you had to beat your own twin brother - whom you never knew about - in a wild race across said acreage? It would be a lot for anyone to handle, but lucky for us, we have Jim Dale to show us the way, in the 1978 film, "Hot Lead and Cold Feet"! This movie is a wacky ride through the wild west, covering every square inch of your standard Western tropes like fist fights, shootouts, robberies, and more shootouts - but all with that classic Disney twist. Jim Dale does an amazing job playing THREE characters, all while the great Don Knotts chews the hell out of every scene he's put into.

Our teenage years are probably the toughest to get through, and it can be hard to really feel like you fit in. If you are as lucky as Wilby, our main character in "The Shaggy Dog", you can have a great best friend like Buzz. You know, someone who will sell you out for a buck, make you feel small, and gaslight you over the most trivial thing. Or, if that doesn't sound too great, maybe try having a little brother like Moochie. That way, when you transform into a big shaggy mess of a creature, he can spend his days dreaming that you'll stay a dog so he can train you as his own personal pet.
