With a background that started with a rugby league career with the Sydney Roosters, Alan's journey into the life sciences is nothing short of remarkable. After several operations and retiring from rugby league, he pursued an honours degree in Applied Science, earning the prestigious University Medal, and later completed his Ph.D. in Medicine.

Alan then spent over a decade in investment banking, working with biotechnology companies around the world on executing strategy and raising capital.

Alan's passion for translating science into life-saving cancer therapies is matched only by his dedication to martial arts, where he has competed at the world level in Kyokushin Karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, recently winning gold at the Brazilian Nationals.

Started in the 1960s, McPhail Furniture is a Victorian-based furniture business that was founded by Keith McPhail, a fourth-generation farmer. Taylor McPhail, along with his brother Casey, took up their dad's legacy but faced a huge struggle to keep the business alive and, like many, were extremely stressed when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

Taylor has a double degree in commerce and law, but it was ultimately his creativity, tenacity and work ethic that allowed him to stay the course and turn things around. Taylor and his brother went from making a loss with their business being on the brink of closure, to generating a turnover of $22 million a year in just 24 months.

Taylor was able to leverage some of the key components of The BUILD Framework® to do so and we are very excited to share his story with you.

At 17 years old, Ryan Brady was in a near-fatal car accident that left him in a coma, only to wake up having forgotten how to speak his native language and walk. He spent his last year of high school learning to speak English again and learning to walk while working to graduate at the same time.
