My guest this Wednesday is David ‘Candyman’ Klein the inventor/creator and historian of Jelly Bellys. Here’s more about Candyman:
In 1976 David Klein spent his last $800 creating the company Jelly Belly. He promoted them nationwide on The Mike Douglas Show, People Magazine. In 1980 he was steamrolled into selling the company by a retiring partner and a ruthless supplier. His story is detailed in the documentary “Candyman, the David Klein Story”.
30 years later at the age of 65 (the same age Colonel Sanders was when he started KFC) he is making his return with his new product David’s Signature Beyond Gourmet Jelly Beans. These are incredible tasting jelly beans that debuted on Amazon in the Candy section at #1 best seller and #1 highest reviewed product.
