FSV Mainz 05 almost staged the shock of the season against FC Bayern, but were pegged back to 2-2 thanks to a Harry Kane penalty. Lee looked to have given the Rhine-Hessen a famous away win in Urs Fischer's first league match in change, but the English forward had other ideas. Stuttgart produced perhaps the performance of the weekend, thrashing Werder 4-0 on their own patch.
