This morning we are tracking the potential for a few showers closer to the coast. Showers and storms will shift more inland as we head through midday and into the afternoon. Locally heavy rainfall is the main threat. Highs will reach the mid 80s this afternoon inland and lower 80s at the coast. Winds will be out of the east at 5-15 mph. We will have a moderate rip current risk at the beaches thanks to the onshore flow. Inland showers and storms will be the theme this weekend with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.
TROPICS: A tropical wave has emerged off the West Coast of Africa. Some gradual long-term development is possible in the Central Atlantic as it moves west. No immediate threats to the U.S.
