Massive layoffs are a sign of a recession, and we see companies trying to find a way to cut their costs. Banks have a big problem with loans on commercial buildings with no tenants. Communities have a problem because the lack of tenants reduces tax revenue for the cities and counties. No tenants means businesses have to close up because no more business. It's a big economic problem.
