So you started your business a while back and you haven’t seen the results you wanted. What do you do? I’ve been there too. I started my first business when I was 18 and I didn’t make one sale. I only wasted a bunch of time and money. It wasn’t a real business because a real business has turnover.
Even when I started my first real business in 2010 with my father, I couldn’t generate income by myself in the first year. Growing a business is hard. But you already knew that. The question is, how can change that? How can we grow our business? Most writers, coaches, and teachers often try to give you some blueprint. But that never worked for me.
I believe that every business is different. There is no one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, I’ve learned that asking yourself questions will help you to adjust better. Because that’s all you need to do to grow. You create a strategy, implement it, and if it doesn’t give you the desired results, you adjust.
Ask Yourself These Questions:
1. What was my original reason for doing something?
2. What did I know before I made the decisions?
3. What were my assumptions?
4. What were my alternatives at the time?
5. How did reality work out relative to my original guess?
6. What worked and what didn’t?
7. Given the information that was available, should I have been able to predict what was going to happen?
9. What should I do differently?
10. What did I fail to do?
13. What must I stop doing?
As you can see, there is some overlap between the questions. You don't necessarily have to answer them all. But make sure you're critical about your business.
