The ASX 200 and the All Ordinaries posted the strongest week of gains for months, with both indices up almost five and a half percent. Rachel spoke to Evan Lucas from Investsmart to unpack the week and discuss just how much impact did the Federal Budget really have.

Josh Frydenberg increased the Government's commitment to the ten year infrastructure expenditure plan in Tuesday's budget, but not by as much as many had anticipated. Not only did the budget not deliver a headline-grabbing big ticket project, but social housing was left off the table. In a time when the housing and construction sector is already experiencing a downturn, there is some thought that social housing might have been a great investment opportunity that has been missed. Josh Frydenberg's budget on Tuesday night included more than 100 billion dollars for infrastructure projects. But most of that money had been already been allocated as part of a ten year plan to improve major infrastructure across the nation. The government is wanting businesses, big and small, to spend, spend, spend so that the country can navigate into a post-recession economy as soon as possible. But is the Government actually spending as much as it could, or as much as it should, to help businesses play their role in rebuilding the economy? Rachel Pupazzoni has the story.
