The Butcher Shop

The beefers are back and have been left to their own devices. Beefmeister Gary is not on the show but they are up a Cort Psyops and that ain'y not bad. We close out there's something growing on you month with Belial and Dwayne looking for love and some revenge in Frank Hennenlotter's Basket Case. Then, we go to Mars for some vacation and some fresh air. Well. Creating some air. We got Arnold, Michael Ironside and one gnarly psychic in Paul Verhoven's Total Recall.

The beefers are back for the first of two episodes in which something is a little too attached to someone. We got resurrected Native American shamans and the skin sacks they create with The Manitou directed by genre legend William Girdler. Then we got an ego trip led by Timothy Hutton in a dual role. It's the rejected twin that could in The Dark Half directed by George A Romero.

The Beefers are going into deep space and we're freaking out. We're doing two films about haunted space vessels with the Roger Corman produced Galaxy Of Terror and the Paul W.S. Anderson directed Event Horizon featuring a grand cast including the late Sam Neill.

The Torchy's boys hit the trail to rustle some wild horses and elude one dynamite character actor. This time we cover the AMC miniseries produced and directed by Walter. We follow ranchers played by great actors Robert Duvall and Thomas Haden Church as they try to navigate 800 miles of hard road to save some Chinese concubines from prostitution and make their nut on a fleet of horses. Great times with the fellas with plenty of tangents. Next up, we get the Walter Hill written and Sam Peckinpah directed The Getaway featuring a shotgun toting Steve McQueen!

The Beefers are back to discuss master thespian Steve Zahn. This time around the theme is aimless 20 something white folks. We do that with the Ben Stiller directed Reality Bites and the Richard Linklater directed Suburbia. Panelists include Mike Maryman, Suzanne Cappeletti and Gary Hill.

The Beefers hit the road for this Father's Day special. We tackle the Irish mob with Tom Hanks, Superman and Paul Newman with Road To Perdition. Then, we take a toddler and his spring loaded stroller and kill everyone in our path with Shogun Assassin. Panelists Include Mr. Venom, Mike Maryman, Jeffery X Martin and Gary Hill.

The Beefers celebrate master thespian Steve Zahn who we all agree deserves better friends. When two prison escapees make it to a small town, they find love and pageantry in Happy, Texas. Zahn plays opposite some pretty heavy hitters in the next feature. He gets to play up Clooney, J Lo and Elmore Leonard in Out Of Sight. We are joined by special guest Mike White of The Projection Booth for this one. Regular panelists include Mike Maryman, Suzanne Cappeletti and Gary Hill.

It's a meeting of the two families when Suzanne and Gary are joined by Cameron and Lee from Torchy's as we continue our Rebel Without A Pause Month. It's Willem Dafoe leading a gang of toughs on their way to Daytona as they find food, locals and some tragedy. This is Kathrn Bigelow's debut being The Loveless from 1981. Then we take a trip into Oz with Sailor and Lula and see all the randos they meet along the way. It's the hard riding, hard loving head trip known as David Lynch's Wild At Heart from 1990.

Rebel Without A Pause Month begins with a singing a swinging time. Mike and Gary are joined by special guest Richard Schmidt of Hello! This Is The Doomed Show to talk about two such films. It's carnival hype and mid-20s abandonment issues with Roustabout featuring Elvis Presley and Barbara Stanwick. Then, we have fast cars, cool kids and tight pants with John Waters' tribute to such movies being Cry-Baby.
