Chris Finlay of Lloyd Jones is back for Part 2 of Tee It Up with Phil Melton. For this part of the conversation, they dive into managing the challenges of operating senior housing facilities and serving residents during the COVID crisis.
Our next guest on the Tee It Up with Phil Melton video podcast is Chris Finlay of Lloyd Jones. No matter how difficult things may get during this COVID-19 pandemic, as lenders and borrowers or tenants and property managers, at the end of the day, we're all in this together. That was a key takeaway from the conversation here in Part 1.
Phil is joined again by Ryan Huffman, COO of Cohen-Esrey, for Part 2 of the latest interview session with the development group based in Kansas. Their conversation focuses on the property management side of the business and serving residents during this difficult time.
For this week's Tee It Up with Phil Melton, Phil was joined by Lee Harris and Ryan Huffman of Cohen-Esrey. One thing that stood out in Part 1 of their conversation is when Lee described how "the crisis has done nothing to dampen the need for affordable housing" and he envisions it having "little to no impact on Affordable Housing Development." Other topics from the conversation include the response to the acquisition side of the business coming to a "screeching halt," how having an adaptable and entrepreneurial business philosophy has been critical in maneuvering through the crisis, and their outlook on how the market will respond as we hopefully progress towards the end of the crisis.
For Part 2 of Phil's conversation with Michael Nguyen, President and CEO of Atlantic Housing, they discuss the impacts the coronavirus pandemic is having at the local, resident level - as well as some of the initiatives and efforts that Atlantic Housing is taking to respond to and offer support for its residents.
Launching the all-new Bellwether Enterprise podcast series Tee It Up with Phil Melton. Phil is EVP and Director of Affordable Housing and FHA Lending at Bellwether - and was joined by his client Michael Nguyen, President and CEO of Atlantic Housing, a nonprofit organization based in Dallas, TX. In part 1 of their conversation, Michael talks about how they have been able to react to the operational changes that have been caused by the coronavirus crisis.
In part 2, Phil brings the conversation to the local, resident level - where Micheal discusses some of the impacts the coronavirus pandemic is having on tenants - as well as some of the initiatives and efforts that Atlantic Housing is taking to respond to and offer support for its residents.
Ilya Weinstein, a loan producer who is part of Bellwether Enterprise's Affordable Housing Group, tells his story of how he and his family emigrated from Russia to New York City when he was a boy. His family of four lived in a hostel and then a one-bedroom apartment in the city until his parents eventually climbed the corporate ladder and moved to something more long-term. Ilya points to having stable, affordable housing as a critical component to the success he and his family have had in America.
Beginning in the 4th quarter of 2019 and continuing throughout the entirety of 2020, the FHFA changed the way and the amount of its allocations to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Bellwether Enterprise SVP Jason Krupoff joins Mission Control to discuss those changes and their impacts on affordable housing.
For this episode of Mission Control – The Bellwether Enterprise Podcast, we continue for the second of a two-part series filmed in Denver last summer with SVP Anthea Martin. The first episode, appearing as episode #2 of Mission Control featured Anthea and Bellwether Transaction Manager Colleen Basil discussing the topic of Women in Commercial Real Estate.
Anthea shares a little about her background getting into the business and industry, and discusses the current state of Affordable Housing, what it looks like today, and the impact an increase in funds and supportive policy dedicated to the expansion of affordable housing can have.
For this episode of Mission Control – The Bellwether Enterprise Podcast, EVP Tom Kenny and VP Josh Boehling break down some equity deals and the capabilities Bellwether Enterprise can provide and offer to clients.
