On this classic episode of The Caffeinated Christian, we sat down with singer and songwriter Jesslyn McCutcheon to talk about mental health. She started writing at age 23 after she was homebound for two years due to severe depression. We had a great conversation with Jesslyn and are thankful for her testimony. If you would like to see more from Jesslyn go to jesslynmccutcheonmusic.com or go to her social media @ jesslynmccutcheonmusic or check her out where ever you get your music.

Today, the guys break down the theology of a message preached at a local church in Bellevue, WA. The title of said message is "What if God worships us?" We think you know our answer to the question, but we break down the biblical, logical, and historical reasons why this message doesn't adhere to sound theology.

Should churches be sending payment notices to members for not giving enough? In this episode of The Caffeinated Christian, we react to a viral video where a woman shares how her church tried to guilt her into giving
We break down the biblical perspective on giving, explore what Scripture says about generosity (hint: it’s supposed to be cheerful, not forced), and discuss how churches can encourage giving without manipulation.
🔥 What do you think? Should churches ever remind people to give? Where’s the line between encouragement and guilt? Drop your thoughts in the comments!

The entire Christian faith rests on whether or not a single moment in human history actually took place: The resurrection of Jesus Christ.
But is it historical fact or fiction?

Originally recorded at Centerpointe Community Church during the "Vertical Marriage" series:
We live in a culture that craves intimacy, yet it also holds a distorted view of what fosters that intimacy. Pastor Mike sits down with Pastors Joe Giebel and Jeff Hackett as all three respond to questions submitted by the congregation about intimacy.

Christian belief and thought are shifting away from the center of culture. We see this as more and more people are leaving the church–in fact, according to the book “The Great De-Churching” by Jim Davis and Michael Graham, 40 million people who used to faithfully attend a local church no longer do. Many have left because they believe Christianity has lost intellectual credibility. To them, it's a faith that lacks sound answers to their deepest questions. The most fundamental one is, does God exist? There are three sound arguments for God's existence we get into today.

Today we pull out another classic episode from the archives. We are looking at the opposite perspective of our classic episode from last month: the Egalitarian view. This view which believes men and women should hold equal roles in the church. To unpack that for us is Pastor Robert Wiesner. Pastor Robert is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, he has published in the Westminster Theological Journal and has forthcoming publications for the Journal of the Ecclesia Scholars Society and in an edited IVP book on the subject of the nature of eschatological punishment.

Who is Jesus? Really? Ever since he walked the earth, his identity and priorities have been the subject of countless debates among scholars, thought leaders, and your average armchair theologian. The thing is, it's remarkably easy to form Jesus into an image that looks a lot like...well...us. One version of Jesus that's gained a lot of traction in our culture today is the Social Justice Jesus. But as novel as it may seem, it's really an echo of what we've seen throughout history. Tune in as Mike and Ryan discuss.

In this week’s episode Dr Ed Uszynski joins Mike and Ryan to discuss how Christians best navigate the complexities of race relations. So much of our opinions on race have been informed by the culture rather than the countercultural kingdom ethic of Jesus. In his book “Untangling Critical Race Theory” Ed wades into the most controversial talking points around the race conversation. That’s what we discuss today. No matter what your perspective is around this topic, this episode is sure to challenge you.
