The Call to Conserve with Danielle Carnahan

Listen Later

Danielle is a wildlife conservationist has most recently been working in elephant conservation. After finding her passion with Asian elephants, Danielle pursued a master’s degree in conservation medicine at Tufts University to continue working toward eliciting change in the exploitation of wildlife. She conducted research throughout her master’s program looking into complex post-traumatic stress disorder in captive Asian elephants in Thailand, as well as working on multiple research projects regarding human-tiger conflict and climate change, the rhino horn trade, and elephant poaching throughout Africa. Danielle is not only committed to protecting wildlife on a worldwide scale but ensuring the conservation of the planet through living a sustainable, plant-based lifestyle. Recently, she started her blog, The Call to Conserve, to write about conservation and sustainability in an accessible way that encourages people to take action with easy eco-tips! Apart from working in conservation, Danielle believes that the best way to conserve the planet is to educate people about issues that may not be well known, such as climate change, ethical wildlife tourism, and living a more sustainable lifestyle.
