Dr. Lovette concludes his study on the “Jesus Road” by exploring a promise that Jesus made to His disciples just before He ascended into heaven: a promise of restoration. Jesus is coming back, and will make all things new.

There is only one road—one way—to Heaven. The way of the cross is the way for all. There may be different cultures, different ways to worship, different languages, and different beliefs, but there is only one Savior for all. When man faces God, man must change his ways: God never changes, and the way to God never changes. Jesus said in John 14:6 that “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” When Jesus spoke these words, He was on the road to the cross. What He taught His disciples along that road were some of the most important truths that He could ever teach to any of us.

This week, we explore the faith of Jesus’ earthly father: Joseph. Although the Bible’s account of Joseph is brief, we can see through him the plan of God unfolding over thousands of years of history. Jesus was born into a family that had a legacy of faith from Abraham all the way to Joseph, and Joseph’s own faith—and courage to act on that faith—is an example to us today.
