Calvin T. Mann,  a native Detroiter, entered the movement to encourage
others as a youth in the early ’80s. This brother has been in the game!! Using t-shirts and other apparel as the vehicle to spread words of ENCOURAGEMENT, his vision and positive message motivate others to be encouraged and to encourage others. 

The vision of encouragement has made a global impact and led to a movement that initiated Encourage Me I’m Young, Inc., (EMIY)

Mann formed Good Fathers Only (GFO) as a vehicle to support “good” fathers who lacked available resources, recognition, and/or the fellowship needed during the struggles of a parenting father. 

Today, GFO provides encouragement, fellowship, PEER mentorship, workshops, and training to MEN from all walks of life committed to being and becoming a “good “father. 

Mann’s legacy contributions include facilitator, talk show host (Daddy Talk), mentor, visionary, coach, author, community activist, and proud father of 4. 

Calvin T. Mann is building a legacy not only for his own children but for all children in need of encouragement and all fathers who want to be and are “good fathers.”

Family! WE BACK! With another episode!! We on FIRE!! 

We got Detroit's very own, DjKellyj. She grew up right around the corner from me! Now she’s in Las Vagas where she’s a Nationally Syndicated Core Dj and Social Media Coordinator at KCEP Power 88 in Las, Vagas, Nevada. A mastered DJ with over 12 years in the game. A kindred spirit and a true pioneer, Detroit stands up for a sista!!  

She specializes in Hip Hop, EDM,  House, R&B, Afro-Beats, and Reggae. She’s a master at all of the DJ and programs. Started off as an intern, and rose to the top!! It wasn't easy, but she did it!! The lesson and GEMS, she drops!! OMG!

DjKellyj talks about the importance of having integrity within the music industry and always having the willingness to grow. We talked about, " Flow," and its significance to music and crowd control. 

As a mother, who had to home school her young scholar during the pandemic, took on the challenge and welcome homeschooling with open arms. A real Detroiter with a real heart, it sucks we lost her to Nevada :( 

Bittersweet, I guess but mother, musician, and most importantly teachers, TAP IN and can't these GEMS from a Master DJ.

Happy New Year!! We are starting 2021 with the SCIENCE GEMS!! We are blessed to have Shirley Bekker, Graduate Entry Medical Student at Cambridge University.

From Enfield, England, Shirley is super smart, an expert in the medical field, a social media influencer, she's photo-genetic, and most importantly a TEACHER!! Shirley eloquently and simplified the myths, worries, and science of the COVID-19 vaccine. This is a simple science episode. This year has been crazy y'all, but the light is at the end of the tunnel. This week's TeachSimple episode is about the student-teacher relationship and I'm chatting with some former students, Q and Brooks. Please observe how I interact with my former scholars, now brothers, and teammates!! 

This episode especially goes out to my Brightmoor, Burt Road, and Schoolcraft families. This is the area in Detroit where I had my first started teaching. I'm proud to say, I didn't last that year, but the relationships I developed were invaluable!
