Are you ready for the 6th Gen Camaro 1LE? Car & Driver did a very nice article on the 2017 Camaro 1LE V8 car this week. This car is going to be a beast!

Speaking of Camaro 1LE’s – we were sent some photos from one on the roads here in Detroit this week.

This week saw some new pictures of two Camaro test mules out in Virginia at the Back of the Dragon. Is Chevrolet out testing some new Z/28’s for 2018?

Al Oppenheiser, “The Camaro Boss” is now driving a CTF ZL1 Convertible now. When I told Al that it’s still convertible weather here in Michigan, he replied with “Well, Chris Frezza, I’ll have a Hoodie on board, because we test these machines through snow or shine, so when it’s 30 degrees, and under 30 MPH, I’ll be droppin the top!” The Camaro Team never does sleep!

Incentives are very good for select 2016 Camaro’s that are on the lot. If you are on the fence, and looking for a great deal – now is the time to go buy a 6th Gen Camaro!

Official Chevrolet incentives for select Camaro’s include 20 percent off MSRP, making for a nearly $6,000 saving on LT models. Chevrolet is also running 72 months financing with zero percent APR. And, if that’s not enough, Chevrolet has introduced a $259 per month lease deal for 39 months.

The 1LS is coming back as the base model for the 2017 Camaro mid-model year.

Camaro Tops Competitors in September

The September 2016 sales figures were released this week, and Camaro is back on top again! Congrats Team Camaro.

September 19th, 2016, General Motors filed an application to register LT5 as a trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The application is assigned serial number 87175676 and specifies that the trademark will be used to name “Engines for automobiles, sport utility vehicles, trucks, and vans. Is this the new Z/28 engine?

Happy 50th Birthday Camaro

DETROIT — Fifty years ago today, on Sept. 29, 1966, an American icon was born when the very first 1967 Camaro was sold.

To commemorate this momentous occasion as well as Camaro’s illustrious past, which includes six unforgettable generations and more than 5 million units sold, Chevrolet is celebrating with an interactive timeline and retrospective video, both viewable on www.CamaroFifty.com.

The interactive timeline — utilizing the one-of-a-kind 11-by-60-foot mural created by Chevrolet and its advertising agency Commonwealth//McCann collaborating with the design collective ILOVEDUST — allows users to explore artwork of each Camaro generation to uncover special photos and facts that showcase the Camaro’s rich history and its evolution over the course of five decades.

“Through the course of its iconic 50-year history, Camaro has been a reflection of the times, forging in passionate influences from customers, development teams, and racing technology,” said Tom Peters, director of exterior design, Chevrolet Performance Cars. “What has remained consistent is the beautifully simple and powerful sculpture that has stayed instantly recognizable to our customers and enthusiasts of all ages. I have the same passion today as when I saw a Camaro for the very first time. It just makes you smile!”

The retrospective video celebrates all six generations and chronicles the connection between Camaro’s design and performance and the enthusiasts who owned them.

“Camaro fans share a lot of creative passion for the car — passion for performance and for styling — that was passed along in every generation,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer. “Camaro’s 50th birthday reminds us of Chevy’s history of ingenuity and design excellence. We want to honor our past by creating more exhilarating and stunning Camaros year after year, and that’s what we plan to do.”

Visitors to www.CamaroFifty.com will also be able to enjoy highlights from this summer’s Camaro 50th Anniversary Celebration, which included a car show and tours at the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant; a Camaro Rally of approximately 300 Camaros that concluded at the Woodward Dream Cruise; and the 2017 50th Anniversary Edition coupes and convertibles.

Camaro 1LE was invited out to Laguna Seca for Motor Trend’s Best Driver’s Car Competition. Once again, the 6th Gen Camaro 1LE proves why it’s such a beast. It beat the Z/28 time on that track.

Camaro 1LE and Price Drops

Camaro 1LE is going to be one heck of a beast to own. Car and Driver’s Lightning Lap times were released this week, and I think there some big surprises. V6 and V8 1LE times made the list. We discuss.

Camaro ZL1 Order Guide

We are back at it this week! Jason survived a hurricane in Florida and Chris bought a brand new 2017 Camaro SS Convertible.

The 2017 Camaro ZL1 order guide was released last week while we were off. The guide shows all the standard equipment for the all new 2017 Camaro ZL1. GT350 versus Camaro SS

A video popped up this week that was linked up from our good friends at Camaronews.com. The video shows a street race between a new Camaro SS and a new Mustang GT350. It appears as though it was pretty even. Camaro seems to win fairly easy from a stand still and the Mustang seems to win from a roll. What do you guys think?

Camaro Dominates Woodward

What a great week for Camaro at the Woodward Dream Cruise. There were all sorts of celebrations and events setup for the days leading up to the largest car cruise in the world. It started out with a tour and car events at the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant in Lansing, MI. We then assembled at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit for a Camaro Rally and Parade to Woodward. Finally, all the cruising and festivities of the actual Woodward Dream Cruise itself. We discuss.

Krypton Green will be available spring 2017 for a limited production run on Camaro! Yea! Will it be available on ZL1? TBD.

6th Gen ZL1

This week the 2017 Camaro ZL1 and 1LE pricing and performance were released. We spend the show talking about this. Here is some highlights from the press release this week:

When they go on sale later this year, the 2017 Camaro ZL1 will be priced at $62,135 for coupe models and $69,135 for convertibles. Prices include destination charge, but not tax, title and other dealer fees. The 1LE package is a $4,500 MSRP option on Camaro V-6 LT coupe models and $6,500 on the V-8 1SS coupe model. For LT coupes, the 1LE package features the Camaro SS’s FE3 suspension, while the 1SS benefits from the ZL1’s electronic limited-slip differential and FE4 suspension with Magnetic Ride dampers.
