The Candle of Hope
Like the candle in the wind
There flickers a candle of hope,
That helps day meet a waiting night
And us, with life’s vagaries cope.
Burning brightly in balmy weather
It lights up the human soul,
When storms arise in the distance
Hope plays its supporting role.
Life without hope would worse be
Than the throes of one’s demise.
Have you never seen despair
That veils those saddened eyes?
The candle of hope must never die
So keep it lit eternally.
