In Episode 3, we'll finish the discussion on verbal obedience cues. We'll talk about the use of obedience cues when aversives are used in training to address non-compliance and to enforce compliance.

In Episode 2, we continue the discussion of verbal obedience cues, and what these sounds really mean to a dog. We'll look at a few examples of obedience cues used in "positive-only" training approaches, and we'll discuss why these cues might not lead to the behavioral compliance levels that one might expect.

In Episode 1, we'll explore the question: What are verbal obedience cues, and more importantly, what do these sounds mean to a dog? Most people would consider an obedience cue or command to be either a request or a demand for the performance of a specific behavior. But is this really the case, from the dog's perspective? And if not, what do verbal obedience cues actually signify to the dog?
